I would like to say congrats to Gregory Brown Charles Dailey and Tyrone Barnes for being inducted to the 2023 Maryland Slowpitch Hall Of Fame. Congratulations on your incredible success!!! Your hard work and perseverance have paid off. I seen all three of your guys work so hard at batting practice to achieve this accomplishment, and I can't think of anyone who deserves it more. Congrats 2023 🥎 HOF Cheers to a job well done.

Lamin Sidique, there is a process that we go thru to get into the HOF. You have to fill out an application, go thru nomination process then election process. What teams and players are you talking about ?

A pathetic excuse for a Hall of Fame web site. No information on those elected. Missing so many of the great players and teams that played DC Metro and all over Maryland in the 70s and 80s. Are you aware of the softball meccas named Rip's, Watkins Park, Joe's Oak Grove, Pine Cliff Park to name a few? Does the HOF still exist?

I see where Bob Taylor is up for the Hall of Fame. My initial thought was its about time. Eight ball was the man who made softball in the 70's and the 80's in our area. His teams started as local good teams and went on to be state and regional powerhouses. Teams like Colony Inn, Glenns Tavern, and J&L Floors. His life revolved around our game. I know he won multiple state championships and one national title in 1985. To this day he is still involved in softball. In closing, I can not think of a better person for your respective organization.

I would like to wish Tommy Schafer a speedy recovery. Tommy left Bayview Medical Friday, May 18th after a recent illness. Tommy is feeling better and doing well. As you know Tommy frequents the Angle Inn in Dundalk and I am sure he would love to buy all well-wishers a beer.

I'D LIKE TO THANK THE ASSOCIATION FOR THEIR TIME AND EFFORT IN MAKING THE 2012 H.O.F. INDUCTION CEREMONY AND AWARD BANQUET A DAY TO REMEMBER. A VERY "EMOTIONAL" AND GRATIFYING DAY TO SAY THE LEAST. THE PAST CAME LIGHT AND WAS PART OF THE PRESENT (ATLEAST FOR 5 HOURS). I LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR BEING BIGGER..... I DON'T THINK IT COULD POSSIBLY GET MUCH BETTER THAN IT WAS ON SUNDAY. THANKS AGAIN !!!!!

Came on the site to see the Lew Oppenheimer Memorial Garden pictures! So wonderful that this in process already. I no longer play softball but will definitly go to the garden to see my friends play and think of Lew. I played many years with him and enjoyed every minute. What a wonderful man who was dedicated to Howard County softball. Thanks again for your GENEROUS gift honoring this amazing man who was taken too soon from this Earth.

ELECTION FOR THE CLASS OF 2012 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES WAS HELD YESTERDAY. WE WILL HAVE 18 NEW MEMBERS ADDED TO OUR FRATERNITY THIS YEAR. THE ELECTION CHAIRMAN WAS MIKE BLUM. MIKE DID A GREAT JOB OF INFORMING THE COMMITTEE AS TO HOW THE ELECTION WAS TO GOING TO BE CONDUTED. HE CONTROLLED THE ELECTION AND WAS RECEPTIVE TO ANYONE WHO WISHED TO GIVE ADDITIONAL INFO ON BEHALF OF ANY OF THE NOMINEES. THE PROCESS TOOK APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS, AND EVERYONE LEFT KNOWING THAT THEY SELECTED THE MOST QUALIFIED AND THE MOST DESERVING TO BE IN THIS YEARS CLASS. THANKS MIKE, WE ALL APPRECIATE THE JOB YOU DID............MAX

My grandfather was Pat Kelly, inducted into the softball hall of fame in the 80's. My grandmother, Rennie Kelly(his wife) was the first woman inducted into the softball hall of fame. Grandma(Rennie)'s birthday is coming up 11-1-11 and I would like to create a post compilation for her birthday. I'm finding so much on Kathy Claggit, who is my grandmas best friend, but not much on grandma. Any responses will be made into a big picture/scrapbook birthday keepsake. Grandma moved in with me in Grant, Fl last year and she still lives and breathes softball. She has my daughter who is 14 going out for softball this year and she is teaching her all she knows. Please, all responses will be welcomed so kindly. Thank you so much, Kim Kelly, rennies grandaughter. By the way, she's still going strong and has better legs then me and my daughter-amazing!!
