Cataract City Fall Classic (Niagara Falls, NY) September 22nd & 23rd, 2018 Age 18+ Minimum 3 games Wood bat (composites allowed) Cost will be $725 per team. Covers fields, umpires, game balls, insurance, scorebooks All teams must submit a $300 (non-refundable) deposit by June 30, 2018 to reserve a place in the tournament. Remaining balance must be submitted by August 15, 2018. To Register Contact: James Carr (716) 579-4208 / niagaradevils@gmail.com Fields: Sal Maglie Stadium - 1201 Hyde Park Boulevard, Niagara Falls, NY, United States Town of Cambria Town Park - 3996 Upper Mountain Rd, Sanborn, NY 14132 Town of Niagara Town Park (Veterans Memorial Park) - 7000 Lockport Rd, Niagara Falls, NY 14305 Sheridan Park - 900 Sheridan Dr, Tonawanda, NY 14150 Game Length: All games will be scheduled as 7 innings in length. 9am and 12pm games will be limited to 2 hours 45 minutes. No new inning may begin after the 2 1/2 mark. 3:00pm games will be called (darkness) at the discretion of the umpire. 2 umpires per game (3 umpires for finals) Baseballs: Baseballs will be at each field for game use. whichever dugout has the balls, please throw 3 games balls in at the start of the game. Home/Away: For 1st round games, teams will hold a coin flip to determine the home/away team. For all other games, home/away will be determined using the tie breakers in the following order: overall record, head to head record, fewest runs allowed, overall run differential, most runs scored, coin flip. Batting Lineup: Teams must bat at least 9 players and can bat a max of 10. Players in the starting lineup may reenter in there initial lineup spot once. Subs are can only be used once. There will be NO A/B order allowed. All base coaches wear helmets while coaching for safety. Defense: Free substitution is permitted at all times. A player does not have to be in the active batting order to play the field. Pinch Running: This counts as an official substitution and needs to be reflected as such in the batting lineup. There are no courtesy runners permitted. Pitcher: When a pitcher enters the game for the first time, he is entitled to 8 warm-up pitches. Each additional inning, he is entitled to 5 pitches. Pitcher cannot fake to third throw to first base move Mercy Run Rule: 12 run mercy rule after 3 complete innings of play, 10 run mercy rule after 5 complete innings of play. Both rules take effect if losing team has batted 3 times in a 12-run rule, or 5 times in a 10-run rule scenario. Two Out Catcher Run Rule: All teams will have their last batted out in the batting order run for the catcher if he is on base with 2 outs as a speed up rule to allow catcher to get catching gear on for next inning in field. If a team chooses to not utilize the rule, the team will have someone else out to warm up the pitcher the following inning to keep the game moving. International Tie Breaker Rule: After 7 complete innings with a tie score: Last batted out in the batting order will report to second base at the beginning of the inning for each team. All other normal baseball rules will remain in place. Home Plate Collision Rule: In the event of a play at the plate, the runner must attempt to slide to avoid contact. In the event that does not happen, or if the catcher does not allow the runner a path to the plate, the call will be made at the discretion of the umpire. Tie Breakers: 1. Overall Record 2. 2012 GHBL Fall Classic Players Needed Burlington Bandits senior men's Tier #1 GHBL team seeks highly skilled players to join us for the 4th annual GHBL Fall Classic wood bat tournament in Burlington/Hamilton from Fri Oct 12th to Sun Oct 14th. There will be potential openings available on the team for the 2013 season and players with rep, elite, college/university or intercounty experience are sought. The team has a strong history with 3 championships, 5 finalist appearances, 4 regular season pennants, 1 GHBL Fall Classic championship and 2 GHBL Fall Classic finalist appearances.
