Entry ID: 1840320 | Norco JAAF is a non-profit corporation. It is good business to leave a few positions open to insure continuity from year to year. I believe that it is important to elect new people to the board. However, the experience that some of the "old timers" provide is invaluable. I served on the board for two years and only know a fraction of what it takes to run this program. Keep in mind that the executive council (president, vice president, commisioner, etc.) can only be comprised of elected members.
By the way, this is my opinion and not that of Norco JAAF. Good luck to the 2011 Board of Directors.
If you are truly concerned, then get involved. Make a difference.

Entry ID: 1840236 | So why don't we vote for positions and not just people and so when the 10 elected don't want to do a certain job you guys go and find a random person that was NOT ELECTED and just appoint them. And why is it OK to appoint a nominee that didn't get elected. It is apparent they did not get elected for one reason or another? |

Entry ID: 1839773 | oops...it is 10 members voted in each year...
nonetheless, my points remain the same...
this year, there were more board members than there has been in the past, but it was a great board and work got done much more efficiently this year... |

Entry ID: 1839769 | To be clear, I believe that 12 board members are elected each year. As the year progresses and committee's begin to form, there are typically a handfull of people willing to volunteer and sometimes they are voted onto the board by the 12 elected board members.
No fish, just work getting done. Until a person gets involved with all of the behind the scenes work, you have no idea what it takes. Until I became a board memmber, I did not know what it takes.
It takes a ton of work to make a football season go and the work is delegated into sub-committees. As the sub-committees get into full swing, it is common to add a member or two into one of the committee's...
Norco Football is a fully functioning democratic organization...we follow the Chapter Bylaws and Roberts Rules of Order...Also, our meetings are open...so if you have questions or want to see what really gets done, then come on down and stick your head in a meeting...dont be suprised if you get put to work though...
No fishyness, conspiracy theories...just a group of people that are committed to the community and children of Norco... |

Entry ID: 1828426 | i had a member from your assoc. come into my office and sell me an advertising spot on the back of your calendars. gave him the money and said he would return in a week with the copy of the calendar. i never received anything. i believe this was a hoax. which is not very appropriate considering we were trying to support your teams. not very happy about that or the fact that there are absolutely no contact numbers on your web pages. |

Entry ID: 1801974 | Nice to see that norco JAAF is still going strong and now have a flag division as well. Being from Norco originally and knowing how much of a football town it is was wondering if all of you would be interested in attending a 3 day football camp held by ex NFL quarterback Travis Brown site to be determined hopefully in Norco. This is a great oppurtunity for the kids to learn a little more and to train just a little harder before season all positions are invited. |

This is especially exciting because Alex's older brother ERIC BENTER had also been awarded with this honour last year.
We're proud of you both and thankful to your Mom and Dad for being so involved with you and your lives and growing young men.
We also recognize the dedicated coaches who unselfishly share their time and talent for the benefit of our young people. You indeed make this world a better place !

Entry ID: 1714774 | The potlucks were a great thing but last year there were many issues. There is always people who have to mess things up for everyone. Norco JAAF is a great place to play and to be mad about potlucks is really stupid... There is alot of other problems in the world much bigger to think about. Get over it, support Norco JAAF and have a great year!!!! |

Entry ID: 1712819 | I understand that there is a reason for almost every rule that is placed within NJAAF. I understand that the revenue from the snack bar helps keep registration prices down so All families can afford to play JAAF. That the snack bar helps pay the fees to use the High School, to run the lights nightly, to pay the city fees, etc. Another large complaint from parents last year was families who have multiple players on different teams...not just one kid playing. Weekly potlucks were becoming a financial stress to these families. NJAAF tries to look out for all kids and the best interest of the program first and formost...go home put your kids to bed on time, since it is a school night and potluck on Saturdays. |

Entry ID: 1712107 | So we can't have anymore potlucks and I think it is a real shame. We have all heard the exuses about it being because of trash left and having to wait to shut the gates and turn the lights off, but we all know the truth is that the board says it takes money away from the snack bar. Just curious, how does everyone feel about the potluck ban? |

Of course NOBODY LET A NOTE! I am so dissappointed and upset. Shame on anyone who damamges other peoples proptery and walks away! |
