Interesting season... I understand there will be advantages to some teams in regards to the kids they have playing for them. It is what it is there, but where this league needs help, is with coaches egos. I watched a kid called safe on first until a coach argued and then he became magically out. I watched a call that was blatant interference, be called correctly. The team goes on to win. Then, magically, somehow the game had to be played from where the interference occurred. Everyone watching that particular game, saw the batter pick up the ball including the umpire who originally called it correctly. How in the world was a coach able to change that call? So every parent rearranged their Sunday to replay these couple of innings simply because a coach believed he saw something that no one else saw? Really? C'mon... get over yourself. This was for Bronco, not the World Series. Umpires need to make the final call...period. Coaches need to coach their kids, not the umpires. From the OVYBL...the interference was protested and after review "everyone" didn't catch that the pitch was made hit the ground then directly hit the batter. By rule that is a dead ball hit batter, which was not a bad call it was a rule error which is protestable. It was a shame that it was not called correctly and all the coaches, parents and ump missed the call. It would also be unfair for a team to lose over a missed call. This was the first protest upheld in two years and was fair and accurate!

Someone needs to tell the Basehogs coach and league president that the Easton Ghost 30-20 is illegal. It has been deemed illegal by the governing body... Do safety concerns only matter for when it fits his narrative??? ............................................................................................ The BaseHawgs have 4 Easton Ghost Bats, 2 of which are 30-22 drop 8's and other 2 are 32-22 drop 10's get your story straight before you make accusations. You are more than welcome to come check my bats anytime. Also it would be nice if you make accusations to also not hide behind them and list your name and contact info in the guestbook. Thanks Mike Bachinski Coach of Basehawgs and OVYBL President

We will Grandfather 8th Graders with Birthdates between May 1st & August 31st, 2003 to be permitting to play Pony Baseball during the 2018 regular season. Motion was voted on and passed unanimously by Voting organizations. This was done in an effort to not leave any 8th graders left out from having an opportunity to play baseball with the new age rules. This is for only the 2018 regular season and we will revisit and review after season. Absolutely no 9th graders are permitted to be rostered in the OVYBL unless turning 15 after August 31st. This rule is discriminatory against any kid who was born between May 1st and August 31st who are Freshman. If your going to let one group play you have to let them all play. Or you need to ban them all. This is a typical move by and Ohio Valley youth organization and its shameful. ........................................................................................I think stating this was discriminatory was not our attention. As a league we felt allowing 8th graders who cannot play High School ball was the proper move because they would not have a league to play in and would be left out of baseball. 9th graders which our High School level have JV and High School baseball as opportunities to play in which the 8th graders do not. We are sorry you feel this was shameful.

#14 of the Pony Rules specifically states: 14. There is to be no bench jockeying. All chatter is to be directed to your own team. There will be one team warning given. Any subsequent violation will result in an ejection of the violating player or coach. Perhaps someone should reiterate this rule to the ICYBSL Red Pony team why on earth any coach or parent would allow a team to simulate shooting using their bats, actually shouting 'GUNS UP' and pretending to shoot that is absurd and inappropriate and appalling. Someone should put a stop to this.
