Christian Clark, great All-star game! You were 4 for 5 in hitting, you had a great defensive game with several good catches and ended the game with outstanding pitching. Keep up the good work. Mom and Dad

I want to say What wonderful coaches we had this season that would be Coach Johnson, and Coach Powers. they really had patients with the boys. and really took the time to show the boys about baseball and all the things about it.My son got so much enjoyment out of baseball this season. In fact we all did. That is all my son talkes about now is his Baseball team. all the boys on the white soxs did a wonderful job and we are so very proud of everyone of them. They learn team work and working with each other . even though they were all different age levels. They worked with each other to make it work. And I won't let anyone say they did not work their hardest and their best. And of course it is all about our boys playing Ball Let play Ball. Again Thank you very much Coach johnson and Coach powers

Little League instills ideals of sportsmanship Don't you miss out on this wonderful opportunity. There will be rules to live by, but the best rules of Little League have to do with sportsmanship. And the first rule is not to make anyone look bad. When someone makes a mistake, try to pick up his or her spirits, just as you would want someone to pick up your spirits when you make a mistake. Mistakes happen. Nobody is perfect, not even major leaguers. By offering encouraging words to others, you're showing respect for them. But you're also respecting the game of baseball, and yourself. Don't you want others to say you are a good teammate? Because when you're through playing baseball, that's all that really matters. Home runs may win you a starting position, and perhaps a college scholarship and maybe even a professional contract. But as sportswriter Grantland Rice once wrote, "When the Great Scorekeeper comes to write against your name, he asks not whether you won or lost, but how you played the game." So play the game fair, and cleanly, and always to the best of your ability, and you will have no regrets, believe me. Not everybody here will have a long baseball career, but you've made the team. That shows you've succeeded, and you have ability others have recognized and want on their team. That should tell you you have talent, and you can succeed in something bigger than even baseball: The game of life. Use this accomplishment as inspiration that you can make it successfully in whatever you choose to do as you get older. Not everyone can be first-string now, but you will be first-string someday in the career of your choice. In the meantime, make sure Little League is a fun time in your life. It's a game, not a job, so enjoy these games, these years, before you one day become parents of Little Leaguers yourselves. And you parents here today, and you coaches, make sure these ballplayers have fun. Childhood passes by quickly; you were children not so long ago yourselves. Don't be too hard on these children, to the point of verbal abuse. None of us can do more than our very best. You can't ask them to do more if they are trying their hardest. These players should model themselves correctly, and you should, too. Sportsmanship comes from the stands as well. Remember, coaches pick the best players to play, and sometimes they pick their own children. We're only human. And so are umpires human. I used to umpire youth baseball, including Little League. It was hard squeezing behind catchers who came up to my waist. So give the umpires a break. They're doing the best they can. Make sure nobody goes away from the ballpark mad. The sun is out, the grass is green, it's baseball. Only one team can leave the field a winner, and it's the team that did the most to win that day. But there's always the next day, the next game, and that will be your chance to win. So players, parents and coaches, don't get mad after a loss. Nobody wins every game. That's baseball. That's sports. That's life. Wow! The first day of a baseball season. What's better? Play ball. (from Dave Newhouse's column)

Parents and Coaches, Thank you for coming out on Field Day to get the fields in shape. Because of you, we have had no real rain outs to speak of on the Shetland, Pinto and Mustang Fields. These fields have held up well to recent rains and we have been able to get the games in. Thanks again for your time and hard work. Pete Slazyk

There is not to much on the shetland teams Very disappointing to them to go to this website and see picture of everyone else and none of their team. They played just as hard as everyone else... WEBMASTER NOTE: All pictures used are supplied by family and friends who send them to us. Unfortunately, we did not get as many Shetland parents to send us their pictures.

A special thank you to Mike Thomas for the construction of cubby holes for our Mustang and Pinto dugouts. Mike Thomas spent this morning doing all the carpentry while Bob Janutis and I helped with the installation. These storage units will hold the kids helmets, hats, gloves, drinks etc. Mike Thomas even went the extra mile to cut out bat holders into the storage units to hold the kids bats. The kids, parents and coaches will all benefit from this. They look great. Awesome job Mike!!

Peotone Baseball we would like to thank the many volunteers who came out on Field Day to prepare our fields for opening day. With the many improvements that were made this year, Peotone has some of the best fields around. Everyone came together as a community this year. Peotone Baseball would also like to give special thanks to a few individuals who helped tremendously on the construction of dugout roofs on the Pinto and Mustang fields. They are: Bob Janutis, Mike Marquardt, Jeff Darling, Brian Lee, Roy Baron and Marty Sakiewicz. New netting on the Mustang field required special equipment. A thanks goes out to Ken Kuran from Central Rent A Crane. We also thank Cliff Oliver of the Park District who helps maintain the fields during the season. As always, we do everything for "THE KIDS". Sincerely, Peotone Baseball

A HUGE thank you to Pete SLazyk, Chris Marganski, David Howard, and Linda Henshaw for a truly wonderful baseball experience. Your coaching took a bunch of 9 & 10 year olds and turned them into a team with a 17 wins 0 losses record for this season. You did this with out yelling or screaming. All of you showed the true meaning of baseball. Get out there, do the best you can, and have a great time. I'm so very thankful that my Grandson Jalen Hansel had this wonderful group of people along with a great bunch of boys and one very determined gal as team mates. I've also very much enjoyed meeting and watching the games with my Grandson's team mates parents and Grandparents. It's been a great time for all of us. I appreciate and am very thankful for the time and effort all of you have given. May God Bless You. Kathy Wojciechowski
