Once again the Fire Cracker tournament was a big success. I would like to thank the Board for all of there hard work throughout this past year. I would like to give a special thanks to Barb Stolz who has helped run the concession stand for the past few seasons. Her hours of hard work are greatly appreciated. My commissioners this year were truly amazing. Brice, Chad and Jeff thank you so much for getting the diamonds ready every night. I don't think our diamonds have ever been in this good of shape. Shannon thanks again for giving us 1 more year. Your work with the umpires is truly appreciated. John thanks again for taking care of the scheduling and making sure we have money every night in the concession. Amy thank you for helping out wherever we need it and taking care of sponsor letters. I truly wouldn't want to do that job. Sherry, thanks for coming back onto the board, I always appreciate your input and help. I also want to thank my wife for all of her help with uniforms this year and putting up with me. Thats a big job. This will be my last year on the board. I will still be around for a few more years and help out where I can. It has been a great 8 years so far and I look forward to next year. Once again thanks coaches, parents, and board members for everything this year you are great people to work with. Tom

WOW!! I am so proud of our Redkey 8u boys all star team! They did an awesome job at the firecracker tournament over the 4th of july! I would like to thank the coaches for all their time and knowledge in helping my son be a better player. I dont think I could have asked for anyone better! You all are such great leaders! Watching our team improve game after game says alot about our coaches and how much they care about the kids, also the kids willingness to learn. Although we got 2nd place (barely :))I do feel that all the boys will look back years later and remember this past weekend and all of our games. @ "Old Timer" reading your comment really meant so much to me! Makes me proud to say "my son is on that team that you are talking about!" Our coaches did read it to our team and you could tell how proud the kids and coaches were. Thank you for the comment!!!! Words can never express how much it meant the boys, coaches and parents. Thanks again!!

I had the opportunity to attend your fine park and tournament this weekend. My wife and I drove up Saturday morning to watch our grandson and granddaughter play. We were very impressed with the facilities and diamonds and the overall atmosphere, very much so that we decided to cancel our plans for Sunday and spend the entire day up there as well. It was a very enjoyable weekend for us getting to watch our grandkids play ball and spending time with our 2 sons. I have followed little league baseball as a coach, fan, supporter, parent, grandparent for over 50 years and I have never watched a team that I was impressed with as much as your Redkey boy's pitching machine team. This team looked so little and outsized compared to the other teams that were playing. I asked my son what the age limits were in this divison and he told me that it was 7-8 years old, but thought this team had some 5 and 6 year olds on it. A few of these kids looked to be 4 or 5 but they certainly did not play like it. This team looked like they had good fundamentals, they out hustled any other team I watched all weekend including the older kids. I found myself rooting for them even though at one time they were playing against my grandson. I regret that I did not have the opportunity to approach the coaches and express to them my feelings about this team and the way that they coached it. The patience and the teaching that all the coaches demonstrated, from the coach running the pitching machine to the coaches on the bases, for this team that looked to be so young and little was extremely remarkable and very pleasant to see. I hope that this is communicated to these gentlemen. I just want to end by saying Thanks for a fabulous fireworks display and an enjoyable weekend, this was a first class organization and hope to be able to make it back next year.

Just a little assist in making players concentrating when batting or fielding the ball - during practice you place different color dots on the baseball and have the batter determine what color appeares on the ball this will train their young eyes to continue to look at the ball all the way from the pitcher to bat or from bat to the glove. this also isolated them from hearing voice while they are batting. your 1st dots you will use many and larger scale until their young eyes develop and become more accurate in detecting the color and than you start the process of making dots smaller. it is amazing what can be detected on baseball going 90 mile/hr once you have trained the eyes. pick-up this tip along time ago when trying out for a team. Example: Pete Roes had the ability to count the number of threads on the baseball like wise with many other players whom in their (hay days) where very diffcult to strike out due to their eye contact.
