Entry ID: 1345892 | Great job with the website, very impressive promoting the "greatest game on dirt". Love the Coach's Corner segment/questions! Glad to see you have our league(NSSBL) website under your "Surfing Around" links. I'm hopeful a lot of these promising young ball player's from the South Shore of our province---in a few years time, could make a strong Senior team and compete in the NSSBL. Our league really misses the "GATEWAYS" but things look on the up & up from what's going on here in Shelburne.
Great to see lots of volunteers and community spirit, keep up the fantasic work!!! Plenty of minor baseball organizations in the province could learn a thing or two from the "BASHER NATION".
Yours in baseball,
Joel Irvine

Dartmouth Moosehead Dry
14-Time NSSBL CHAMPS
3-Time CANADIAN CHAMPS
P.S. In August of 2009, we have been awarded by Baseball Canada--The Canadian Senior Championships in Dartmouth. Might be a good opportunity for some players/parents & coaches from "BASHER NATION" to take in some of the quality action. All the best for your organization in 2008!!!

Entry ID: 1187184 | Just another small post to say thank you to all the volunteers who work so diligently on behalf of our ball players, both here in Shelburne and across the province in the many towns and villages that support baseball. It truly is a priviledge to have so many talented, dedicated, experienced coaches stepping up to the forefront to help make the Shelburne Minor Area Baseball Association the best it can be. Everybody knows who the Bashers are now! |

Entry ID: 1149309 | Just a quick note to say thanks to everyone who has visited this site over the last 2 months: with Coach's corner coming soon (where an interview with a Basher Coach will be be posted online), Stat Tracker slowly picking up momentum, the Founders Day Tournament just around the bend, and so much more, the season has finally begun!!! As the websmaster, with Jeremy and Nathaniel helping out once in a while, we are very excited about using some of the Stat Tracker money to purchase this website (approximately $100 for the year): when this is done, the ability of us to fully use this website will be unleashed. I encourage all of you to sign the guest book and let us know what you think. On a personally note, many thanks to Lydia Deinstadt, (and all the volunteers) for all of her hard work at our Lobster Cup Tournament. Your efforts will not be forgotten.
Take care everyone and until next time,
Beware of Bashers!!!!

Entry ID: 1146969 | Great web site - hats off to the Brown family. Nice to be able to read about all the teams and keep updated at my convenience. Felicia, as a team member, really enjoys the site too (I think she likes seeing her picuture there the best ha ha ha). Best of luck to all the Bashers and may 2007 be the best season ever. Special mention to the Girls Scotia Bank Squirt division, they played an awesome game in Barrington, their first "real" game, we lost 10-2 but the girls played their best and had fun. We'll get 'em Friday night girls - keep up the good work!!!!! |

Entry ID: 1117133 | "When a batted ball is thrown back to the infield, the runners cannot continue to advance on the basepaths. For example, a runner has passed First when the Outfielder Throws the Ball to the infield: the runner may continue to second but must stop there there when he gets there. Even if the ball if just thrown to the infield and not actually caught by an infielder, this does stop the play and the runner cannot continue to advance. This rule is to stop the kids from throwing the ball all over the field."
For your information, the rule that stirred up some debate at the last coach's meeting. Any feedback can be posted here, for example, rewrite the rule if you think it needs to be tinkered...Maybe they will take another look at the rule at the next league meeting. |
