BWL Rule Book
B.W.L Official Rule Book
1) All calls or rulings on the field will be based on majority, if there is a 50-50 split in the decision, the play will be repeated.
2) If a player hits the ball and it's clearly going to be a homerun, but it is kept in the ballpark by a tree branch, any debris (including birds) or a tree itself, it will be ruled a homerun.
3) Anything the majority considers misconduct will result in an automatic out in that teams next At-bat. If the penalty is the committed at the end of the game it will be enforced at in the teams’ next game.
4) NO bat throwing. NO warnings. Automatic out.
5) There is no pegging unless a player is in the base path from 3rd base to Home, or if a player is leading off 1st base and 3rd base.
6) If a player is on his to way to advancing a base and the ball gets mounded, the player will have to return to the base he started at if he is less than 1/2 way up the baseline, if he is more than 1/2 way up the baseline the runner will get to advance a base.
7) If a player hits the ball into an area where it can not be fielded or cannot be seen, it will result in a ground rule double.
8) While taking a lead off 1st and 3rd, you can only advance up the base path if the ball is in the pitchers hands. Once the ball is in the air you cannot advance any further. If the ump sees an illegal lead then the runner is out. No warnings will be given.
9) A player batting is only allowed to bunt if there's a runner on third base.
10) A ball is not mounded if just the ball is on the mound. It must be in the possession of a player who is standing on the mound.
11) "The Hidden Ball Trick" is legal, but in order for it to be legal player the batter must be in the box and the pitcher must be on the mound.
12) While pitching, the pitcher may not step past the pitching rubber. If he does that pitch will be a ball. No warnings will be issued.
13) There is a speed limit in pitching, though there is no set speed, it must be kept under a reasonable speed. The majority of players will decide if a pitcher is throwing too hard.
15) Every player is responsible for throwing the ball back to the pitcher. There will be no "bat hitting" or anything like that. If the ump thinks the batter in intentionally is making bad throws back to the pitcher then the batter will be charged with an automatic strike.
16) There will be no leaving the field and must stay for all games, including playoffs unless you absolutely have to. Example: Doctors, Dentist, Sporting Event etc. Not for: Going to friends, going home because you’re not playing, If your arguing or fighting, etc... As long as there is enough umps including camera man, base ump, and plate ump, and it'll be quick, then it should be fine.
17) No switching stances during an at bat.
18) As long as the runner is in the base path there will be no runner interference, however if the ump decides the runner is intentionally getting in the way of the fielder then the batter is out.
19) Any intentionally distraction will result in either a re-do or an out, the ump has the decision.
20) There is no "jinxing" allowed in B.W.L, if you jinx any player during game or not then your team will be charged with an out the next you play.
21) If the bag moves you must go back to the original spot of the bag. When the bag moves out of its location it is useless. The umpires/majority will decide where the bag was before it was moved.
22) No rock throwing on field or around field during games. Throwing a rock that is in your way without permission is an out. Permission from either the opposing team or umpire must be asked and they must say its o.k. The only thing that should be thrown is a wiffleball.
