USFL-Proposed Re-Start Up
United States Professional Football League. Non Compete League with the NFL.In very early exploratory start up phase.League would have Salary Cap of $1.5 million per team.Player Salary would depend on Amt. of Prev.Pro Exp. Salaries being proposed would range from $10,000 yr for import and semi pro exp players to $50,000 yr for NFL released veteran with 4 + yrs of NFL exp. Div IA rookies would receive $25,000/yr.Goal would be for the league to be self sufficient & stand on it's own within 5 yrs.Possible Minor League feeder system for NFL/CFL within 7 yrs.Could eventually be set up like a MLB Triple A or Double A league. The new USFL would play a 16 gm season from late May until late Sept with the playoffs to be held in October. Proposal is for playing venues to be College Facilities.Investor interest inquire within.Possible Television Deals could come from ABC,TNT,USA, and/or TV1.No negotiations have begun with any networks or presentation made to any potential ownership groups. No stadium leases have been secured.Everything is still in very early focus group & exploratory phase. The proposed cities are where the new USFL is targeting to place franchises.Any interested investor groups in those cities should inquire within.Early discussions are that the new league would definitely be an 11 on 11 outdoor league and would play on a 110yd field the same size as in Candaian football with NFL rules.
UNITED STATES FOOTBALL LEAGUE
I thought the initial plan might benefit by starting up with natural local/rivalries to get interest amongst fans. They have to choose to root for one or the another ,so that starts controversy & more publicity, especially with territorial drafts selecting 1/3 of the the teams roster.I also thought a AAA development league, indepently owned and operated by non USFL investors would be good to always be scouting players.
We place these teams in cities that have promise ,but did not do well attendance wise in USFL,CFL,XFL ,etc( Las Vegas, Arizona,So.California,Portland and possible new strong areas like Provo(Utah & BYU),Fresno( two NFL training camps nearby for 49ers & Raiders), and Colorado Springs ( Denver was USFL strong site , so we go to Colorado Springs(AFA & Col St.) to draw them in to.
I have another plan with 10 teams. 2 each from Cal, Fla, Penn, TX,& Ohio( all the football hotbeds). I've also distributed a sample football ops & player salary cap:
