Hawks Win Second Playoff Game Big
The Hawley Hawks earned their second playoff win of the postseason after hosting the Frazee Flames. The first Hawk playoff win was an impressive 10-2 win over the Pelican Rapids Lakers. Frazee hoped to fare better against Hawley, but things didn't go too well for the Flames. Hawley jumped out to an amazing 11-0 after just one inning. The Hawks then tacked on six more in the second, taking a 17-0 lead. Frazee answered with two runs before Hawley put up six more in the third inning. This gave Hawley a 23-2 lead after three innings. The game would actually go just five innings due to Frazee not having enough players. The final score was 23-5 in favor of the Hawks.

Hawks Win Big in Playoff Opener
The Hawley Hawks used a three-run first inning to set the tone in an impressive win over the Pelican Rapids Lakers. Brady Harms and Tom Branca smacked back-to-back triples in the first. Hawley then added a run in the third on an error. The Hawks would then score a pair in the sixth. Nicolai Baer sparked the inning with a leadoff double. Tom Branca later smacked a single and Justin Grafsgaard drew a bases loaded walk. The Hawks then put the game away in the eighth, scoring four more runs. The inning was highlighted by a double from Cory Mattson and hits from Justin Grafsgaard and Nicolai Baer. Justin Grafsgaard went the distance on the mound for the Hawks. Grafsgaard scattered eight hits, gave up one earned run, and struck out six. The win also avenged 14-6 and 4-3 losses to Pelican during the season. Hawley's next game is at Dent on Friday at 7:30.

Three Hawley Hawks Play in All-Star Game
Brady Harms, Tom Branca, and Justin Grafsgaard were selected to represent the Hawks at the Hi-10/Countryside vs. Lake & Pine All Star Game. The game was played in Dent on Friday June 27th. 28 players from the Countryside and Hi-10 Leagues teamed up to take on the Lake and Pine League. Brady Harms started at first base and played the first four innings. Harms went 1-for-2, including the first hit for his team. Tom Branca crushed a double to the fence that highlighted a key three-run fifth inning that put the Hi-10/Countrysiders ahead for good. Branca also was in the Home Run Derby just before the game. Justin Grafsgaard picked up the win after pitching a solid fifth inning that included a strikeout.
