More than 100 young golfers competed Wednesday, August 11 in the annual South Shore Country Club Junior Club Championship and Tournament. The event, co-sponsored by the Country Club Management Committee and the Hingham Sports Partnership, was open to all local golfers under the age of eighteen.

Patrick Cadigan claimed the Championship title this year, shooting a 77. Along with a trophy, Pat will be awarded a complimentary Junior Permit Holder pass for the 2005 season. Chris Riley and Bryan Quinlan finished two strokes back at 79.

Brendan McVay shot an 82 to capture the title for the Boys 10-14 division. Tom Kelley and Brad Cadigan tied for second with an 84.

Each competitor received a South Shore Country Club golf towel, golf balls, tees, and a hot dog and hamburger buffet lunch. An awards presentation followed lunch and was attended by Tom Hoffman of the Hingham Sports Partnership. Mr. Hoffman addressed the young golfers and offered his congratulations for a job well done. Also as part of the awards, fellow competitors Chris Riley, Corey Nigro and Bryan Quinlan presented Pat with the ceremonial "green jacket".
