Lady Wolverines earn their first-ever win at home!
February 25, 2008 --
The Lady Wolverines defeated a tough Tesoro JV team in a pre-season scrimmage on Monday for their first-ever win! Led by team captain CJ Angeles' three goals, the team stepped up to defeat a strong and well-seasoned Tesoro JV squad in Aliso's first and only pre-season scrimmage. Each of the team members worked hard to put together all of the information from practice and to apply it on the field during game conditions and their hard work earned them a hard-fought 4-2 victory. Aliso....you know! Congratulations to CJ Angeles for being named the Player of the Game!

Lady Wolverines defeat Dana to go 2-0!
February 28, 2008 --
A team effort carried the Aliso Niguel Lady Wolverines to their second straight victory Thursday night at Dana Hills HS. On Thursday evening, they faced a solid DHHS Varsity team at Dana Hills High School. The girls from Dana were tough, but our ladies secured their second win of the season with a come-from-behind victory highlighted by solid defensive play, great goal-tending, aggressive ground ball recovery, and six goals scored by 5 different players! Nice work ladies! Down 2-0 in the first few minutes, the girls stepped up their play and chose to rally rather than roll over and proved to themselves and their supportive traveling crowd that they may call themselves ladies, but they don't play that way...:) Congratulations to Sara Jones for being named Player of the Game!

Ladies lose a tough match to LHHS 4-3
March 3, 2008 --
Our Lady Wolverines lost their first regular-season match in the closing minutes of a hard-fought game before a large and supportive home crowd on Monday. Our girls took on the Hawks talented and seasoned Varsity team and battled them from one end of the field to the other in an attempt to continue their undefeated streak, but came up one goal short when the Hawks took advantage of three penalty shots in the final three minutes of the game. Mackenzie Beckley(00) owned her crease as she turned away 8 of the 12 shots on goal and kept the Lady Wolverines in the game all the way until the end. For her incredible efforts in goal, she earned the Player of the Game Award and will be allowed to wear her "special socks" as part of her game uniform for the remainder of this season. Goal scorers for ANHS were Cj Angeles (1), Erin Fitz(1), and Sara Jones(1). Michelle Lutzky and Frannie DeAngelis also had outstanding games and vacuumed up more than 5 ground balls each to dominate their areas of the field. Congratulations to all the girls for a game well-played!

Lady Wolverines defeat the Santa Margarita Eagles and are now 3-1!!!
March 6, 2008 --
The Lady Wolverines led the charge to their third win of their season with a strong, 8-4 victory over the Santa Margarita Eagles Varsity team on Thursday evening at ANHS. Led by Player of the Game Taylor Scott's fired-up play(6 passes caught, 3 ground balls won, 4 shots, 2 goals for the night!), the Ladies played their best possession game of the season! Edda Morgeson's five face-off victories helped the team to gain possession early and often and outstanding ground ball recoveries by Melanie Carr (7 GB's), Lexi Nichols(6 GB's), Frannie DeAngelis (5 GB's), and CJ Angeles (5 GB's) kept the ball in Aliso's control for much of the night. 5 girls stepped up to score for the Wolverines including Lexi Nichols(1), Frannie DeAngeles(2), Sara Jones(2), Taylor Scott(2), and CJ Angeles(1). Melanie Carr, Olivia Schafer, and Cj Angeles each had one assist for the night. It was a solid, hard-fought victory for the girls and their best performance yet as a fledgling team! Way to go, Ladies!

Lady Wolverines tie LHHS 5-5 to go 3-1-1
March 15, 2008 --
The Lady Wolverines made a spectacular comeback with the help of Player of the Game Frannie DeAngelis' three goals to tie the LHHS Hawks 5-5 in the final season matchup of the now infamous rivalry. Our girls stepped up their play tremendously this week and outplayed, outworked, and out-shot the Hawks by a 2-1 margin. Despite a physically aggressive Hawk team and several brutal checks to the head and face against our girls, the Lady Wolverines came back from a 3-0 deficit to take a 5-4 lead with less than 2 minutes to play. Sara Jones stepped up, controlled the ball, and attempted to burn off the remaining time, but a slow trigger finger on the part of the LHHS Clock operator negated 20 seconds of her effort and the Hawks managed to regain possession of the ball and tie the score with 2 seconds left on a twice-repeated penalty shot. It was a game to remember and an outstanding effort on the part of our ladies and bodes extremely well for our highly-anticipated matches vs. LHHS next season!
