ASYFC will participate in American Youth Football's "All American Division" for the upcoming 2009 season. This is an exciting change! Teams will now be divided up by age and grade.
Weight limits will be eliminated and the older/lighter rule will be eliminated.Studies indicate that weight has no connection to the number of injuries reported and in fact age and physical maturity are more of an issue.
Practices:
Practices are held at Taylor Field ( behind Shirley Middle School). During the month of August, practices are 4 nights a week. Once school starts, practices are reduced to 3 nights per week.
Tiny Mites will practice for 1 hour 2 nights a week during the month of August. Once school starts they will practice 1 night a week for 1 hour.
Games:
We have an 9 week game schedule. Our home games are played on Saturdays at the Ayer High School. Our Away games are on Sundays.
Equipment:
Ayer/Shirley supplies full practice and game uniforms to the football players. Parents are responsible for supplying cleats.
Fee:
The cost for football players is as follows:
1 player = $150.00
2 Players = $250.00
3 Players = $350.00
Family Max = $350.00
Tiny Mites (5&6 year olds) are $50.00
