    Championship Series
    Washington Nationals vs Detroit Tigers

For the 2nd straight year the Detroit Tigers and Washington Nationals met in the playoffs, only this time with a little more on the line as the Nationals reached their first ever championship. In Game 1, the captains set their aces on the mound and it paid off. After a Conor Rogan 2 run shot in the top of the 1st, no runs were scored until Keith helped his own cause with a solo shot off Greg in the 3rd. The Tigers later rallied to score again and sent the game into extras. Keith got a little wild in the top of the 8th and the Nats took advantage to walk home the eventual game winning run.

In Game 2, there was another close game with the team captains on the bump. After Antonio hit a solo shot off Tyler in the 3rd, Greg got the runs back in the bottom of the 5th with a 2 run single off Tony. Greg then tried to finish the game and the series off by coming in for the save. He quickly retired AJ on a strikeout and then lost it. He walked 4 straight to bring home the tying run before striking out AJ again. The game would be have to resume two days later in the top of the 7th. Conor had to take the mound due to innings limitations and he ran into some trouble in the 9th while allowing 3 runs to score which turned out to be the difference.

Game 3 came and Conor showed no signs of his .141 season BA. He quickly put the Nats ahead with a grand slam off Keith in the 2nd inning, but he wasn't done. In the 3rd inning Conor belted his 2nd HR of the day with a 2 run shot off Tony and went at it again with a solo shot in the 4th and his 6th of the playoffs. This would prove to be all Tyler would need on the mound as he held the Tigers at bay and finished off his first AWL Championship.

    Semifinals
    Detroit Tigers vs Oakland Athletics

The classic AL battle between the Tigers and A's took place in the first round of the playoffs with Jimbo vs. Tony in game 1. The A's got to Tony early and were able to score thanks to clutch hitting by John Gasparoni and Tom Sarkisian. Tony became frustrated after not being able to find the kzone and pulled himself out, letting Antonio finish the game. In the end Jimbo was able to dominate the Tigers allowing 3 runs over 1 hit and 6 BB.

Then Tony went to Antonio in game 2 vs Norrman. Norrman and Antonio pitched well through 3 innings as no runs were scored. However, Antonio came alive hitting wise and hit 2 HRs in the next innings stretching the lead. A late HR by John was not nearly enough as the Tigers even the series.

Game 3 was just another example of this classic battle. Tony's defense saved the early A's rally in the 1st when Norrman was robbed of an RBI single. In a game of only three total hits, it was the Leatham brothers giving the Tigers the win off of back to back hits in the bottom of the 5th inning.

    GAME 1: 10-3 A'S
    GAME 2: 9-1 TIGERS
    GAME 3: 1-0 TIGERS

San Diego Padres vs Washington Nationals

This matchup between the Nats and Padres looked as if it was going to be a blowout compliments of the Padres, but this series was one of the best ever played in the AWL. In Game 1, Davis took his 0.38 ERA up against "Mr. No-Hitter" Greg Sullivan. However it was the bats of the Nationals who came alive scoring 3 runs against the powerful Padres team as the beat the Padres to take game 1.

In a must win game for the Padres, they looked to attack opposing pitcher Tyler to get to an early lead. And that they did scoring 4 runs in the first thanks to back to back HRs by Dave and Cayden. With good pitching from Cayden, the Padres tied the series 1-1.

In the biggest Game 3 of the year it was again Dave vs. Greg on the bump. Home runs by both pitchers made the score 1-1. Then the game was called because of darkness and played the following day. This gap gave the Nationals the boost to come alive the next day with Conor and Tyler hitting homers and Greg closing the door to send the Nationals to their first ever championship series.

    GAME 1: 3-0 NATS
    GAME 2: 7-0 PADRES
    GAME 3: 4-1 NATS
