Dustin pitches 5 innings vs. Burnet High gives up 2 runs, 5K's, 2BB gets no decision as Connally loses 3-2 with tying run aboard in the 7th as his brother gives up bunt rbi in the top of the 7th. Dustin goes 1 for 3 with a double and RBI.

Dustin gets starting job at 3rd Base

Dustin gets the starting job and then goes out and proves it with 6 putouts at 3rd including a diving backhand on a hard bouncer down the line withtime to get up and throw the runner out at first base. Goes 2 for 4 with a RBI Double down the line to the wall while scoring 3 runs of Connally's 9 in Connally's win over Fredericksburg.

Dustin gets 1st Pitching Win

Dustin starts game vs. Waco High. Throws complete game shutout a one-hitter that could have been a no-hitter but ball bounces off web of outfielder's glove for a single. Dustin had 6 strike outs and 1 BB with no runner getting past 2nd base. Also he helped himself with an RBI single up the middle in the first inning. And in the fourth inning with a runner on third Dustin works a walk and instead of stopping at first he proceeds to second getting the catcher to throw to second. While the runner at third scores on the throw down to second with Dustin safe at second.

Dustin Earns Connally's First District Win

With Connally needing a win in their 2nd game in as many nights, Dustin took on the task. With fielding errors in the first inning Marble Falls takes a 3-0 lead. Eventually building a 5-1 lead with 2 more unearned runs in the fourth inning. Then with Dustin keeping the Marble Falls hitters off-balance with his curve ball Connally mounts a comeback getting 3 runs in the 5th and 4 more runs in the 6th. Dustin throws 3 consecutive shutout innings to close the game in a 1-2-3 inning. Giving up 5 runs (2 earned) on four hits. Dustin gets the victory to improve to 2-1 on the season. Next up is Burnet H.S. Tuesday night at Connally at 7pm.

CONNALLY WINS 2ND STRAIGHT DISTRICT GAME
March 20, 2007 - 10:00 PM --
With Connally trailing 7-3 in the 4th inning, Coach Dunavent goes to the bench calls Dustin up to pinch hit as the bases were loaded with 1 out. Connally had been in this situation in 2 previous innings with the batters going 0 for 4. Dustin worked the count full and then drill a line drive single over the shortstop's head to bring in 2 runs to cut the deficit down to 2 runs. As Connally tied up the game in the bottom of the 6th, they watched as Burnet loaded the bases with 2 walks and a HBP with 2 outs in the inning and then a Burnet player drives a groundball up the middle to score 2 runs. Putting the pressure back on Connally in the bottom of the 7th, Connally comes through and scores 3 runs in the bottom half to win the game.

Connally extends Win Streak to 3

Dustin gets the start goes into the seventh and gets the victory. 4K's, 1BB and 1HBP.Giving up 5 runs of which three are earned. Beating Lampasas 9-5. On the offense 0 for 2 sac fly for a rbi and a walk. Next up game vs. 1st place Lake Travis High Tuesday 3/27 7pm at Connally.

HENDRICKSON GAME
March 30, 2007 - 09:00 PM --
Dustin gets the start vs. 1st Place Hendrickson high Friday night. Hendrickson gets their first hit in the third with a close bunt play at first. In the 5th inning with the score In Connally's favor 5-1 with 2 runners on with 2 outs the catcher has a pass ball that stops about 15 foot from the plate with Dustin covering home, the runner stops and starts to head back to third, the catcher fires the ball about 10 feet over the head of Dustin allowing the runner to score while keeping the inning going eventually allowing Hendrickson to close to 5-4. Dustin is pulled in the sixth while ahead and watches as Hendrickson scores 5 times in the seventh to win the game 9-5. Dustin gets a no decision in this game while allowing 6 hits and 1 earned run with 4 K's and 1BB.

Vista Ridge Victory

Connally needed this win tonight to keep pace with Dripping Springs for final playoff spot. In a game that was delayed for Lightning after 6 full with Connally up by a 2-1 score came back after 30 minute delay with hot bats and score 3 more runs in the top of the 7th. Beating Vista Ridge 5-1 to end first half of district play with a 4-3 record. Next up Friday night VS. Dripping Springs with Dustin scheduled to pitch.

Defense gives up 3 errors and infield pop-up goes uncaught as 3 Connally players converge on it to see it drop in front of them for the third out, then on the next pitch bloops one over the shortstop to score their first run. Connally's shortstop in the next inning gets tossed on play at home in which he was safe but was tossed on collision with their catcher, not scoring run and stopping a big inning at the plate. Dustin with 3K's and 1BB giving up 5 runs, 1 earned in 4 1/3 innings.

Fat Lady Warming Up

Just as the Lady was warming up, she sat back down. Connally falls behind in the 4th 3-0 but rallies in the bottom of inning for 7 runs. And win the game 7-4. Keeping alive our slim playoff hopes with 5 games to go we just about have to win out. And have some help from other teams. Dustin on the mound vs. Burnet High at Burnet Friday at 7PM.

GAME SUSPENDED BECAUSE OF LIGHTNING TO RESUME SATURDAY? AFTER 2 1/2 INNINGS, DUSTIN HAS 4K'S, 1BB, NO HITS WITH CONNALLY LEADING 1-0 IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 3RD. PLAY RESUMES AT 10:30PM, DUSTIN GOES 5 INNINGS GIVING UP 3 HITS 2 RUNS WHILE STRIKING OUT 4. AND AT THE PLATE GOES 2 FOR 2 AND A HBP. CONNALLY WINNING 7-2.

DUSTIN RECORDS 2ND SHUTOUT

In a much needed game with playoff implications, Dustin works his way out of 2 innings with bases loaded with 1 out. Dustin gets his 2nd shutout of the season giving up 5 hits and 2BB's. Dustin was 2 for 3 , 2 singles 1 run scored and 1 rbi. Next up tomorrow vs. Lake Travis at 2PM.

Dustin Makes All-District
May 18, 2007 --
In Dustin's first year he led in team in pitching victories, ERA and shutouts. Second on his team in batting average. Gathering up All- 25-4A District honors as a pitcher. And All-Academic Team Honors for District 25-4A.
