HS Team Formed!
The Bakersfield HEAT organization is very pleased to announce that we've added a high school team to our club. This team consists of talented players from a wide variety of the best local basketball programs. We have players from Stockdale, Garces, North, Bakersfield Christian, BHS, Centennial, Liberty, and Frontier! They'll be coached by the very successful and respected Head Varsity Coach from North High, Hernan Santiago. For those of you that read the Californian article from January 2008, he was also the 8th grade Heat coach a couple years back that experienced great success with that team. We're very lucky to have him back in the organization at the high school level.

Good news -- the high school team will be going to the Top Gun Tournament in Hanford with us! We'd highly encourage our younger players to go watch them play if it does not conflict with your games. The vast majority of the HS roster were former Heat players, so they have a lot in common with our current young teams!

See the Teams/Rosters link for more details.

Bakersfield Heat in the Newspaper
8 out of 8 girls, 100% on the Bakersfield Heat 8th grade team made their high school's varsity team. Pretty impressive!

Bakersfield Heat looking for players!!!
The Bakersfield Heat is currently looking for talent in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades for our upcoming Spring 2009 tournament teams.

The Bakersfield Heat Advantage
Over 12 years of preparing local girls for high school and college basketball.
Kern County's first club for girls.
Heat coaches are screened and guaranteed professional and EXPERIENCED.
One low fee pays for everything, and most, if not all of this fee is offset by simple, effective fundraisers.
Many of our players have or will play varsity basketball their freshman year.
We are a 100% non-profit organization.
The Heat Board of Directors is made up of friends/family of players - there is a vested interest in the club's success.
We keep team rosters limited to 10-12 girls.
We practice only at full-court, indoor, high quality venues.
Excellent, long-term bonds and friendships are formed through traveling California with an elite, tournament team.
It is FUN! Above all, the Heat organization never forgets its roots - a group of people who simply loved the great game of basketball and wanted maximum development opportunity for Bakersfield's elite female players.

If interested, please contact Jim Parks (747-0685), Tony D'Addieco (978-7189), or any other Board of Directors member.
