Fall 2009 Travel Soccer Information (6/9/09 & 7/24/09 Emails)
**** 6/9/09 Email ****
The Spring season is winding down...now is a good time to get all your paperwork and registrations from your players for the fall! Yay, paperwork!!

We had the league meeting last night and there are a few changes with regards to U11 team rules and secondary carding procedures.

For the teams that will be U11 in the fall, you must have a majority of age appropriate player. The ratio is 50+1. So, if you are rostering 17 players, you would need 8 U11 and 7 U10's. Also, a U10 can play on a U11 team, but not on a U12 team and U9's cannot play on full-sided teams.

As for secondary carding, Art will have a supply of secondary cards. Forms will be available on the state website. Once you download the forms, get it filled out with the correct signatures, you can drop it off (along with the pass) for Art to sign. That's right, NO MORE GOING TO THE STATE OFFICE. Art will sign as opposed to the state president. So, have to have your copies, your primary pass, and your secondary pass. PLEASE read the directions carefully. Art is taking on a lot of paperwork in doing this so it needs to be done correctly. You, as coaches, need to look over everything. Do not have parents just dropping things off without you knowing or reviewing the paperwork yourself. After Art signs off, those documents will then be taken to our DC, Wayne, along with an additional medical release form and SAGE form (if not carded primarily in Morris County).

Remember, there is no secondary carding for small sided teams. It is for U11 and above. Also, DO NOT call, email, or knock on the DC's doors. It all has to go through me. This is not my rule, but that of mcysa.

So far, only a couple of teams have let me know they are fielding a team, the age, name, and contact info.

PCN's (pre-season conflicts) are due to Stacy Jones no later than Sunday, August 2nd. You only get 2 dates a season to re-schedule games for your team. If it is after the deadline and you have a conflict, you will have to play no matter what or forfeit the game.

Stacy will have the carding packets Thursday, July 23rd. They will be available on Friday.

**** 7/24/09 Email ****
The carding packets are in and ready to be picked up. I will keep them in a basket on my front porch.

A few things from last night's meeting regarding packets. Some of this might be repetitive for those who have been doing this, but read on anyway. Remember, I had to actually sit through the meeting and questions, you just have to read a condensed email!

1) The final paperwork has to be in the hand's of the DC no later than September 3rd to play the first game on the 13th. If you are playing a tournament, it needs to be in 10 days prior to the tournament.

2) All communication must go through me. The communications to me from club officials is by email only and they work so be patient. On our end to them, there are absolutely NO phone calls allowed or ringing of their doorbells. If you have parents picking up/dropping off, they need to know this. Emergencies do not exist. Proper team planning in advance eliminates all cases of emergencies.

3) Addresses for the DC (Wayne Dunn) is on the website. Get directions from a search engine. Do not email him.

4) Remember, full name on player passes, no write-overs, white-out, etc. Separate the copies according to the instructions. NO staples. Highlight where it says to highlight. Remember you cannot alter the roster. For any areas asking for club always write #12, not mcysa. Also, player passes have to say North Warren, not NW, and then your team name, ie North Warren Stars, not NW Stars.

5) For those coaching or assistant on more than one team and will be listed on more than one roster: you can only be carded once. On your second, third, etc roster, just write your coach number from the original player pass and give a copy front and back of your card. Yes, this is similar to secondary carding and yes, you do have to wait to get the first team's paperwork back so get it in early.

For The University, I need to look over your paperwork before it gets taken to Wayne. Anybody else that has questions, please contact me.

Get your paperwork in early. Remember to get your team money/checks over to Todd by the first week in August.

Thanks,
Stacy

Fall 2009 Rec Soccer Information (8/3/09 email)
Welcome to the fall 2009 Season of Blairstown Youth Soccer, Recreation

First let me thank all of you who volunteered in the past and now again for this year.

So lets begin! We have some administrative stuff to do. Let me first tell you that all in all we have 18 teams this season. The season will run for 9 weeks/games.
We have 7 5/6 teams, 5 7/8 teams 3 9/10 teams and 3 11/13 teams totalling over 200 children. And that doesnt include Frelinghuysen.

I'd like to have ALL COACHES AND ASSISTANT COACHES (AND NEW VOLUNTEERS WHO WANT TO COACH), meet this Saturday morning, 10AM at Sycamore field concession stand (THE SYCAMORE SHACK) for a meeting that should last no more than 45 minutes, hopefully. At that time i will be handing out Team Rosters to each team coach. Joe young will be handling game scheduling. Chris Thatcher is handling practice field coordination for 5/6 and 7/8 age groups. 9/10 and 11/13 will be coordinated with Travel so as not to double schedule practice times on the same fields. Travel has 8 teams of their own and use the same practice areas. Hopefully someone will step up and do this but otherwise i will do it myself.

MANDATORY KID SAFE FORMS WILL NEED TO BE HANDED IN TO ME AT THIS TIME (UNLESS YOU ALREADY GAVE THEM TO TODD V.). FORMS CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM THE WEBSITE: WWW.BLAIRSTOWNYOUTHSOCCER.ORG .

I'm hoping to have Bob Klein present to hand out equipment at the same time. In which case the meeting could last a little longer.

We have many volunteers for coaching and the concession stand and other stuff.

See you all on Saturday morning!

Jonathan Maizel

Fall 2009 Field Lining Schedule (9/7/09 Email)
From: Brian Strout - Field Scheduler - North Warren United Soccer Club Sent: Monday, September 7, 2009 1:55:32 PM Subject: Field Lining Schedule - Fall 2009 Season Coaches, Below is the field lining schedule for the Fall 2009 season. I've scheduled travel coaches/teams for field lining duties generally on weekend dates that they have a home game and on a field that they typically play on. Also, if a coach/team has a game on a Saturday (or Friday), I tried to put that team in charge of lining the field for that weekend since they would be the first to use it. The chart below highlights those respective teams that have been assigned the field lining responsibility for each of the three Sycamore Fields (A, B or C) prior to each weekend and which field they have been assigned to re-line. A plan view of the current field layout/designations can be referenced at the following link: http://www.blairstownyouthsoccer.org The fields should be lined by Friday evening of each weekend assigned. For example, if your team is assigned field lining duties for the home game date of Sunday 9/13, the assigned fields should be lined no later than the evening of Friday 9/11. Feel free to delegate this job to a parent from your team. There is nothing that says the coach(es) have to do all the work. (see original email for additional information)
