Todd Smrekar (played in 1988 and 1989, as a coach 1995 to present)
I am currently teaching and coaching at Cambridge-Isanti High School. I have taught Civics and am currently teaching College and General Psychology and Sociology. I went to St. Cloud State University for Bachelor's Degree and received my Master's Degree from Saint Mary's University. I played Redbirds for a season in 1990. I am going on my 13th year as the head coach of the Bluejackets. I have coached the Isanti Pee Wees, the Freshman team in 1996, the Legion Team, and the VFW team. My most memorable moment as a player were all the games against Princeton(school and legion) and playing against Sauk Rapids in the Dome my senior year for the conference championship. My most memorable moment as coach are many with practice and games with many great teams. One memory that sticks out though was the entire 2008 season, from the spring trip to the section finals in the dome. My wife Aaron(married for 11 years) and we have a daughter Addie(9).

    Eric "Rook" Johnson (4 years, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000)
I am an entrepreneur, I own my own business in the Travel Industry. Also, I am an Assistant Manager with Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Rochester, MN. I am married to my lovely wife Michelle, my step-daughter Skyler, and my new son Landon Lee. We live in Randolph, MN.
My favorite memory as a Bluejacket baseball player was rounding 3rd, shaking hands with the former owner of the Home Run record as I joined him atop the all time leader board.
Besides running my business and staying home with my family, I play a LOT of softball. This year we won the state title, and took 2nd place at the national tournament at the B level.

    Chris Johnson (1995 to 1998)
I am currently teaching at CIHS as a Science Teacher. I will be coaching the 7th grade baseball team this spring, I am excited to be back in the program. I am married to Jenny and we have no kin, yet.
I have several memories as a Bluejacket, but probably the greatest was during my 7th grade season, which of course was a long time ago. Back then I had J-willy for a coach and we played under the lights at Larson Field and I still remember the pitch (not the team we were playing though) right down the middle or middle in and my swing was great and the ball went over 350’ left center field about middle up the trees. It was my first homerun. Still have the ball signed by J-willy. Awesome moment!!

    Mark Solberg(1982 to 1996).
I served as an assistant from 1982 to 1985 and took over as the head coach from 1986 to 1996. I am currently the Activities Director at Cambridge-Isanti High School. I am married to Kelly and have four boys Matt, Sam, Nick, and Johnny. My favorites memories are that I used to really enjoy the practices. But my all time favorite memory would be beating Grand Rapids in the Section 7AA Finals at Wade Stadium to go to State in 1994. Thanks for doing this Coach Smrekar!

    KP Anderson (1983 to 1987)
Favorite Baseball Memory: Shelling Sam Stolt in practice-He knows I did it.  (And that's the way I'm choosing to remember it).  Riding the pine in the regional finals loss at Grand Rapids and cracking a fake front tooth off while trying to chew the laces off a ball.  Tough loss, but at least we had something to laugh at on that long ride home.
Now, living in L.A., Writing and Executive Producing TV shows.  ("The Soup" on E!, "Sports Soup" on Versus and "The Dish" on the Style Network.  Please watch!  If one of 'em gets cancelled, I have to get a paper route.)
Family:  Hot wife, Leslie.  Gorgeous, funny, smart daughter Sophia (5 years old in June of '08.  Her mom is funny and smart, too, but I'm gonna be 40.  All you need to know is she's hot.)
Thrilled to hear the program is in Todd's hands.  Having been lucky enough to play with and know him, couldn't think of a better, classier person for the job.  Go Bluejackets!

    Mike Bergloff(1988 to 1994(player), 2002 to 2005, and 2008 as coach)
I spent many years as both a player and a coach in the baseball program. I currently live in Grandy and teach physical education at Isanti Intermediate and Primary Schools. On January 22, 2009 Coach Bergloff welcomed his first son into the world, Bennett.
After attending Itasca Community College and St. Cloud State Univeristy. I have also coached the Post #290 Legion Baseball Team.
My favorite memories as a Bluejacket are many but as a player it was qualifying for the 1994 state tournament as a senior on the Bluejacket squad. As a coach it was winning the 2008 Mississippi 8 conference championship.

    Kurt Koester(1980 to 1982)
    I played varsity in 1980,1981,1982
I graduated from University of Minnesota in 1987. Played for the Redbirds
From 1983 Through 1995. Played on Two State tournament teams. I currntely live in Springvale township just west of Cambridge. I am a financial planner and have an office in Maple Grove. I am divorced, and I have two high schol aged children. I have a lot of good memories from the three varsity squads I had the privilege to play with. Nothing stands out except for the friendships that were formed and the fun we had together.
Other comments: I was very proud of the 2008 squad and their achievements
in the section tournament. I hope the strength of the program continues to build and we become a perennial powerhouse for baseball in central
    Minnesota.

    Mike Koplitz(2002 and 2003)
Played two years of varsity in 2002 & 2003, I helped coach the Legion in summers of 2004 and 2005, as assistant. Went to Augsburg right away and am now playing ball at Bemidji State. Played for the Cambridge Blues town team for its only three years of existence and now play for the Rum River Bandits entering our 3rd season. My favorite memory as a player was the Section Qtr Finals of 2003 against Princeton where Nate Brutsman got the game winning hit and favorite memory as a coach was beating Maple Grove at the District 10 Tournament in summer of 2004

    Brian Guimont(1987 and 1988)
I played baseball and hockey since I was in 4th grade, so about 9 years total. After I graduated in 1988, I joined the Navy and got married.
After several moves, I have moved back to Cambridge and I am a Power Plant Operator for Great River Energy
Married 18 years to fellow CI alum Tara Prickett we have two daughters that are 8 and 10 My favorite memory as a Bluejacket was playing Kung Fu during baseball practices/games with Jay "Willie" Anderson.

    Matt Solberg (2005 and 2006)
I was the ballboy from when I was 5 or so until my dad stopped coaching (not sure of year). I played Varsity 2005 and 2006 seasons. I am currently attending Augsburg College for secondary mathematics education/coaching and I play football. In the summer, I play town team for the Rum River Bandits and umpire varsity baseball with the East Central Umpires Association (Don Butler's crew). I am not married, girlfriend Sarah Thiry since 8th grade.
My best baseball memory is playing in my first legion game at Hinckley and having 3 hits as a sophomore.

    Paul Schultz (1987 and 1988)
Paul Schultz  (AKA Schitzy), played in 1987 and 1988. After high school I attended Gustavus Adolphus College and graduated with a geology degree in 1992. Currently, I work for Tiller Corporation in Maple Grove.  Tiller owns several gravel mines and asphalt plants throughout the metro area.  I handle a lot of the environmental permitting and land management responsibilities. My wife Lynette and I have an 11-year old son(Nicholas) and 7-year old daughter (Molly).  We live in Rockford, MN
As for my memories of my days as a Bluejacket, I was somewhat “baseball challenged”, so if I remember right, my playing career pretty much peaked at the JV level, but I always enjoyed being at the field with my buddies.

    Max Herrnberger(Years played 1985 to 1987)
I am currently working in Edina at a remodeling company and have coached high school hockey for 9 years @ St. Louis Park High School.
    I have 1 son ( Maximillian Herrnberger V)-poor kid.

Tons of great memories playing ball! Our records, hanging out with the boys, the “ Hern wall” which was created by my great buddies in shallow left to see if I could hit it over them ( was never known for my power), Yelling wall just a little too late for Brett Tuma(Lindeloff), and of course K.P.s tooth issues up in Grand Rapids.

Thanks Coach Smrekar for putting this together there is noone better!!!

Brian Schultz (played on varsity from 2004 to 2006)
I am currently a junior at Waldorf College in Forest City Iowa, where I am majoring in both Marketing and Management. I will be the third baseman and captain for Waldorf's baseball team this spring. I also have played for the Isanti Redbirds since 2005. The past two summers I have coached the VFW baseball team in Isanti.
I have many good memories as a Bluejacket, but my most memorable was pitching a two-hit complete game shut-out my junior season against our rivals St. Francis under the lights.

    Tyler Schaff(played 1998 to 2000, coached 2006)
I played varsity baseball in 1998, 1999, 2000. I served as the pitching coach in 2006.

Where are you at now and what are you doing? I played 4 years of baseball and 2 years of hockey at St. John’s University I currently live in Cambridge. I am in the 3rd Year of Teaching Chemistry at St. Francis High School. I have completed my Master’s in Education through St. Mary’s University. I am also coaching 9th grade football, varsity baseball(Head JV and varsity pitching coach), and varsity/JV girls hockey at SFHS. I am also a member of Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department. Finally, I play Isanti Redbirds Amateur Baseball.

My marital status not married and I have no children.

My favorite memory as a Bluejacket Baseball player was beating heavilyt favored and #5 ranked Bloomington Gold during the District 10 Tournament of Legion, the summer season after my sophomore year. I pitched after I had been at hockey camp near Brainerd all day. I came down for the night game. It was the upset of the tournament that year. Another great memory I had was my first at-bat of career as a sophomore during playoffs versus Princeton, I ripped a double.
