COACHES CERTIFICATION
Babe Ruth League has announced that beginning with the 2008 season, all tournament team managers and coaches must be certified. In order to support this effort, Babe Ruth League, Inc. and Ripken Baseball Inc. have teamed to produce a coach certification program which incorporates the sound fundamentals which are taught at Cal Ripken's coaching clinics nationwide. This certification is offered through online instruction. The cost is $19.95. It takes approximately 3 hrs. to complete the training. Once registered, you may leave the training and return as often as necessary. The system tracks your progress automatically. Once the training is complete, you will receive an online certificate and your name will be added to a Babe Ruth League database as a certified coach. The certification is valid for life. The list can be accessed by league officials to verify certification prior to tournament team assignments. This training is a valuable tool for all coaches whether you intend to coach a tournament team or not. The lessons cover all aspects of coaching including player fitness, practice organization, injury prevention and attitude.
