CANNONS WIN THE 12 TEAM TOURNAMENT
THE 9U CANNONS GO UNDEFEATED IN THE TOURNAMENT. THE FIRST GAME OF THE TOURNAMENT WAS AGAINST THE MIDDLE VALLEY STALLIONS WHERE THE ARM OF BIG HOP GAVE US A 3-2 WIN. THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY BEATEN THE CANNONS 3-2 AND 4-3. THAT GAME GUARANTEED US 3RD PLACE AS LFO FORFEITED THE TOURNAMENT. THE NEXT GAME THE CANNONS FACED THE DAYTON HAVOC WHERE WE PUT OUR PITCHERS TO GOOD WORK AS WE WERE SHORT TWO PITCHERS FOR THE DAY SO JUSTIN MORRIS, TRIPP CHURCH, AND BIG HOP PULLED OUT A 5-3 VICTORY.IN THE FINALS THE CANNONS WERE REALLY SHORT PLAYERS DUE TO BASKETBALL CONFLICTS AND SICKNESS, CANNONS PLAYED WITH ONLY ONE OUTFIELDER AND 7 TOTAL PLAYERS. WE RELIED HEAVILY ON OUR THREE PITCHERS OF THE DAY, JUSTIN MORRIS, ERIC GIBSON AND BIG HOP. THE GAME ENDED IN A 5-5 TIE AGAINST THE LOOKOUTS WHERE THEY WERE FORCED TO FORFEIT DUE TO COACHING CONFLICTS AGAINST THE UMPIRE. THE FORFEIT INSURED THE CANNONS A 1ST PLACE WIN IN THE END. OUR 7 BOYS HELD THEIR HEAD HIGH, WE TRULY MISSED OUR 4 MISSING BOYS. CARSON SHERRILL, JACOB DYKES, BRYCE BIRD, TRIPP CHURCH WE MISSED YOU GUYS.
CANNONS trip to Power 94
Jamie Dismuke asked the Cannons to come down on Monday February 2, 2009 to be interviewed at Power 94 radiostation. The boys and coaches were interviewed and gave shout-outs. They had a great time. We want to thank Jamie for this opportunity and for his support during the 08-09 Winter Ball League. As a team we are looking forward to the 09 Spring Season. GO CANNONS!

Cannons Blue gets there 1st WIN in the 12 team tourney
The Cannons Blue fought a hard,tough battle with the Middle Valley Stallions Saturday in their first round play-off. Cannons Blue emerged victorious with a 3 to 2 win over Middle Valley. Middle Valley had previously beaten the Cannons twice with scores of 7 to 6 and 3 to 2. It is great to see the Cannons be victorious over this tough team. Cannons Red played the Mean Green from East Brainerd where Big Hop hit his first home run of the 2008/2009 season. Hop's homerun drove in Justin Morris and Gavin Hollis to make the score a 3 to nothing ballgame. Although Cannons fought hard till the end they fell to Mean Green 7 to 4, but never gave up. Cannons Blue will return Saturday ready to take the Havoc from Dayton in the semi-final round.
