MAY BOARD MEETING
5-18-09
The Board had its May meeting, and there are a few dates to mark on your calenders.
June 6th is the MANDATORY parents meeting. Cheer parents will meet at 10am in the high school cafeteria. Football parents will meet at 12 noon in the cafeteria also. Players are also required to attend if possible to insure proper size ordering for equipment and uniforms.
ALSO ANY PLAYER WHO CAN BRING A $200 SPONSER TO THE PROGRAM, WILL RECEIVE A $50 CREDIT TOWARDS THEIR REGISTRATION!!!

Capac Warriors Meeting Minutes
January 13, 2009
Attendance: Dwayne Loper, Tony Calabro, Kelly Rodzos, Kim Maul, Melonie Loper, Tom Wheeler.
Meeting started at 6:50pm
New Board Members: Tom Wheeler, President, Tony Calabro Assist. Comm. Yvonne Voydanoff, Secretary.
Open Registration: March 14th, 2009 10am-12pm American Legion Hall.
Mail in registration postmarked by March 1st Yvonne to send out postcards to remind returning players.
Dwayne wants Tony to be co-commissioner to take his place in the event he cannot be there.
Dwayne also reiterated the fact that the commissioner has final say.
Registration-do we change fee? Kim said to possibly use some grant money to offset reg. fees instead of raising prices.
Sponsorship-Need to get more sponsors how to do it? Possibly putting someone in charge-have board members each take some businesses to go to.
Dwayne would like to possibly set up a “scholarship” for several kids. Possibly kids who played before, but cannot play currently. The organization needs to bring in more money to cover the new costs. Insurance, storage unit, youth sports committee possibly uses grant money. Tom Wheeler suggested putting up banners for each sponsor on the field. Tom Wheeler is trying to get his business to sponsor some kids.
Earmark $2,000. For sponsoring kids

How to figure out how to set up scholarships? Kim Maul said there is something to do with insurance? Not sure what.
Dwayne will call 4 County to get the logistics.

$50.00 Discounts Kim Maul suggested a discount for anyone who brings in a sponsor for $200.

$200.00 to be a sponsor and they receive plaque, name and program and we are researching other ways to advertise for those sponsors.
Tony wants a copy of the registration to hand out in Brown City Schools.

June 6th Parents Meeting 10am Cheer, 11am football
*Need a copy of birth certificate on parents meeting.
Helmet reconditioning, Dimmer will do that.
Need shoulder pads, Dwayne Loper will order.
Jerseys-from Dimmer, Dwayne will check to find colors and styles. Names will be on back.
Clinics-Grand Rapids, 2 day coaches clinic. Do not have the funds to send anyone.
Fundraiser Bowling, Holly Meadows, Kelly and Tom will work out the logistics, possibly in June.

February 17, 2009

Meeting started at 6:30pm
Open Registration, getting information out to other areas for kids to be able to participate in program.
Registration flyers to the schools for open registration, Letters went to Flag Football players who are eligible for tackle this season. Have to be age 7 by August 1st to join tackle. Reminder letters to returning players will be sent out.
The open registration at American Legion will be two hours discussed who would be attending from the board members, Kim Maul and Yvonne Voydanoff will coordinate.
Kim Maul discussed returning players who have previous year pie credits.
Fundraisers: Kelly will give more information about bowling fundraiser to be held at Holly Meadows. Discussed if the bowling family fundraiser should be on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
Tom Wheeler to purchase jerseys in blue socks in blue (Nike Dry fit knee high) and 29 Helmets.
Football and cheer ages 7-12 excluding 7th grade.
Discussed dropping off flyers at Imlay City Schools to include kids from Imlay City Schools.
Get a sponsor and get $50.00 off of football costs. This may help get sponsors for program. Kim Maul suggested that be included on flyers that will go out for open registration.
Capac Warriors Meeting Minutes
March 25, 2009
Attendance: Dwayne Loper, Tom Wheeler, Tony Calabro, Kim Maul, Kelly Rodzos, Yvonne Voydanoff also Terri and Conrad
Ron Bonin from Riddell- had a presentation on merchandise we may consider purchasing example helmets and pads along with reviewing the catalog. He answered various questions on sizing and fit. He reviewed the costs and was able to have a couple returning players try on merchandise to give us a better example of the sizes. We discussed the jerseys and the options of two colors with writing and number as well as cost of reconditioning equipment as opposed to new.
HFL meeting rundowns, No Oxford, referee fees, New Vice Presidents Glenn Haney from AB and Chris Sledz from Armada. No rules changes, mass uniform purchase to cut cost.
Dwayne presented from the HFL meetings that we would need to vote on letting two 7th grade kids play on team. Board voted No. Unanimous votes against letting two 7th grade kids play on Varsity.
Dwayne Loper said that the HFL discussed each team would get fined if there was violation of rules at the game. The board discussed and we decided that the Warriors should not get a fine if there is a violation of rules from parents, coaches any in attendance of the game.
Capac Youth sports committee meeting is being held tomorrow at 7pm at the High school library. Tom Wheeler said he would be able to attend.
Grant application, Dwayne Loper is preparing and submitting.
Pictures classic sports photography or someone new. Talked about other photographers who participate in sports photography.
Dwayne requested a copy of the meeting meetings and Yvonne Voydanoff is supplying, Dwayne wants to post on Warriors web site.
Discussed lowering the cost of registration to $100.00 Dwayne will discuss in more detail with Kim at our next meeting to see if possible. Instead of a scholarship program.
Letters need to go our to 2, 3, 4, and 5th grade again for football and cheer. We will send out a second round of letters to register.
Sponsors, we discussed yard signs at games to recognize sponsors, gathering costs.

Discussed having two bowling fundraisers for Warriors.
