Quote of the day "REMEMBER AT THE END OF THE DAY IT'S JUST A GAME". FOOTBALL IS A GREAT SPORT AND FRIENDSHIPS CAN LAST FOREVER, NO MATTER WHERE YOU PLAY OR WHO YOU PLAY FOR. PLEASE JUST HAVE FUN WHEREVER YOU GO.
Words from the heart It’s a whole new year and it’s time for football to start back up. As always in the past there are new teams and leagues popping up everywhere and making promises that you know there’s no way they can keep. We always want to believe that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Well let me tell you, it’s not. We live in very trouble times and everything we do cost so much of our hard earned money. This is why it’s so hard to even keep a team going each year. We are not in this for the money because there’s no money to be made. With what the players pay and a few sponsors, and the fans that come to our home games, we still lose hundreds of dollars a season as a team. The only reason we keep doing this is for the love of the game and the football family we have with the Express. There are the same people out there trying to get players and or staff members to leave the Express family and our winning ways to go to the same type of mess of some of the other teams we play against. Please don’t be fooled or trapped in a pool of lies. We are the Carolina Express, one team, one family. We will be fine no matter what happens, how many players jump ship or what lies other people say to try to get players to leave the Express. Everybody knows us and how we run our team and how important every player and staff member is to us. So let everyone talk, remember all they want is to be is us. They just don’t want to put in all the hard work that we did so they will try to lie and steal other team’s players. You can be sure the Carolina Express will keep doing what we do best, being true to ourselves and to our team. Unlike others that think the owners or coaches are the most important part of a team, let them stand on the side without you the players on the field and see how many fans will come out to watch them coach nobody. We have always put the players first and we will keep the fun in football at this level for as long as we are able. Thanks for being a part of the Carolina Express.

Saturdays game What a way to start off the season Express. The first half was football 101. Just trying to keep it basic, but the Jays would have none of that. The game went scoreless till about a few min left in the first half when the defense thought it was time to score.
With a pair of intercepted by "The state of the union address” Mr. State ran back about a 65 yard int for a TD to start the scoring for the Express. The offense then took over with three more TD'S by Irvin, Grandville (HITMAN) and Jerome with three extra points by the leagues best kicker Rick. . Check back for more stats and highlights to come this week. I would like to thank our staff, Coach Monty, Ronny, Andrea, Kymberly, Christy, Eddie, and our intern asst coach for a job well done. Next game at home against the Beaufort Broncos in Chapin.
Express 27 - Blue Jays 0
THIS WEEKENDS GAME YOUR CAROLINA EXPRESS TOOK ON THE 2008 NAFL 2 CHAMPIONS THE BEAUFORT BRONCOS HERE IN CHAPIN. WHAT A GAME, THANKS TO ALL THE FANS THAT CAME OUT TO WATCH US PLAY. WITH OUT YOU ALL WE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO THIS. WOW, DEFENSE WAY TO KEEP MY (COACH BUTCH'S) HEAD OFF THE CHOPPING BLOCK. THIS WASN'T A WELL PLAYED, OR CALLED GAME BUT LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS. WE BEAT A VERY GOOD TEAM WHEN WE PLAYED OUR WORST. THINK WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN WE START CLICKING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL. KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB. WANT TO BE A STARTER? THEN COME TO PRACTICE AND TAKE SOMEONES JOB.
THIS WEEKENDS GAME THE GAME STARTED OUT WITH A 85 YARD KICKOFF RETURN FOR A TD BY CHRIS McMATH OF THE EXPRESS. THEN A F/G BY RICK PADGET, AND A FUMBLE PICKED UP BY NEWON ALLEN FOR A 45 YARD TD SET THE SCORING FOR THE EXPRESS AT 17. THE STORM RETURNED A KICKOFF FOR A TD FOR THEIR ONLY SCORE. THE EXPRESS' DEFENSE HAVE NOT GIVING UP A POINT ALL YEAR. GOOD WIN. EXPRESS 17-7 OVER THE STORM.
THIS WEEKENDS GAME WITH THE BULLS This week the Defense of the Carolina Express pulled out another victory. With the score 8-0 with less than 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter the Defensive pressure of Issac Curtis, Newon Allen, Ryan Glover, and Robert Dinkens led to a force fumble and scoop and score by Jermaine Burgess who scored his second TD of the season. A two point conversion by Jerome Kennedy and the Train is back on the tracks. The fourth quarter ended with an electrifying field goal attempt by Rick Padget. The 54 yard field goal missed by inches and sent the game into overtime.... With the story set it would be a the big play of the Carolina Express Defense and the foot of T-Rex... With Offense pounding its way into fieldgoal range after Randall States second pick of the game Rick Padgett put a long night to rest with A fieldgoal and an Express win with the final score 11-8. A hard fought victory!!!! Still a long season to go and a lot of work to be done. Way to step up everyone!!!
FULL TEAM PREACTIE MOVED TO THURSDAY NIGHTS ONLY THE TEAM AS A WHOLE WILL ONLY MEET ON THURSDAY NIGHT AT 8:00PM. THE OFFENSE WILL SET UP A TIME TO MEET, AS WILL THE DEFENSE ON OTHER NIGHTS. WE WILL HAVE THESE SCHEDULES POSTED BY MID-NEXT WEEK. HOPE EVERYONE HAVES A SAFE AND HAPPY 4TH.

SATURDAY'S GAME THE ONLY THING THAT WON THAT GAME WAS HEART! BEING DOWN 15-3 WITH LESS THE 8 MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME, THERE WAS NO WAY WE WERE GOING TO GIVE UP. WE HAVE NOT BEEN A POWER HOUSE OFFENSIVE TEAM THIS SEASON SO FAR, BUT SOMETHINGS HAVE A WAY OF WORKING OUT IN IT'S OWN TIME. THE LAST 8 MINUTES OF THE GAME MADE ME BELIEVE THAT WE MAY HAVE JUST FOUND A LITTLE BIT OF IT. GREAT FAMILY EFFORT TO PULL OUT ANOTHER 4 QUARTER VICTORY. FINAL SCORE EXPRESS 17 SPARTANS 15.
last WEEKEND'S GAME The Carolina Express dropped their first game this season. We will make no Excesses about the very bad calls by the officials, or that the home field advantage took on a whole new meaning. We played hard but very discombobulated. We had way too many turnovers to even be as close as we were. With props going to the defense again, great job guys. To the Express players, way to keep playing hard when it seemed that there was no hope with the officials. No matter what, we are still on top with a record of 6-1 with four more games to go. This weekend we will be hosting the Carolina warriors from Columbia. This should be a great game.
Please keep Coach Butch and his family in your prayers this week. He goes into the hospital Tuesday to be put on tikosyn, a medication that helps with (Atrial Fibrillation), Irregular heart beat. He will be there till Friday. The doctors will also be trying to do a cardio version (shocking the heart back into rhythm). He will be in the Lexington medical center in west Columbia.

PLEASE READ !!!!!!!!!!!!! The Carolina Express played hard all year long. The players, coaches, and fans were true all season. We, as every other team has their bumps and burses through out the year, but we always come back together as a family. This season proved to be as every other season, a winning one. For the past six seasons as well as this one we have finished with the best record. The Express has always enjoyed home field advantage. We worked had for it and we deserve it. This season our home field in Chapin, and every other field around town are not available for any minor league teams to use after September 1st due to children rec leagues are in full swing. Other teams in the midlands are having the same problem, having to travel when they had home field advantage. It’s not fair, but the kids are very important and these leagues are too. To fix this problem, we will have to start in May so that our season will be over before September 1st. We do apologize for this inconvenience and want all the players and fans to know we did everything in our power to make this happen at home. The truth is we must have the game in Cross SC or forfeit, and I don’t see us forfeiting a football game much less a division championship game. To the players; please use this as a motivation to play our best and not use it as an excuse to give up. The one prize that we have not won as the Carolina Express is a league championship. This is our year, with six straight division championships, a national championship game, and the U.S.O. Bowl in January is great, but a league championship is wear you prove you deserve to play for a national bowl championship. You MUST win your league to get a chance to play for a national championship! Let go out and prove this is our year, plan and simply. FAMILY ON THREE “ 1, 2 ,3 FAMILY!!!!!!!!!
p.s We are still working on a home field for the Championship game. it's up to us to make it there.
