CLUB MEETING/MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
CHAPEL GROVE OPTIMIST IS OPERATED BY A SMALL GROUP OF ADULTS, MOSTLY PARENTS OF CHILDREN PARTICIPATING IN OPTIMIST CLUB SPORTS. WITHIN THIS GROUP OF PEOPLE ARE THE BOARD MEMBERS OF CHAPEL GROVE OPTIMIST. WE MEET ON THE 2ND & 4TH TUESDAYS OF EACH MONTH AND OUR MEETINGS BEGIN AT 7:00 PM. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, COMMENTS OR COMPLAINTS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COME TO A MEETING AT 7:00PM . PLEASE UNDERSTAND WE HAVE A LOT TO DISCUSS AND WOULD LIKE TO HEAR YOUR COMMENTS BUT WILL ASK YOU TO STAY NO LONGER THAN 8:00 PM. WE WILL DISCUSS YOUR COMMENTS AND GET BACK TO YOU IF NEED BE. WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS & VOLUNTEERS.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON CHILDREN IN THIS COMMUNITY BY BECOMING A MEMBER, COACH OR VOLUNTEER AT CGOC, PLEASE COMPLETE THE OPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION AND BRING IT TO THE NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING.

MANY FOOTBALL & BASEBALL SEASONS YOU HAVE HEARD HIM DOING ANNOUNCEMENTS, PLAYER INTRODUCTIONS, PLAY BY PLAY DETAILS , HOMECOMING ANNOUNCEMENTS, MUSIC AND A JOKE OR TWO. HE CONTINUES TO ADD TO OUR ORGANIZATION TODAY & HOPEFULLY FOR YEARS TO COME.
HE HAS HELPED TO GUIDE OUR CLUB WITH UPGRADES TO OUR FACILITY SUCH AS THE - ADDITION ON THE CONCESSION STAND (INSIDE & OUT), PICNIC TABLES, ELECTRICAL UPGRADES, BATTING CAGE & NEW SCOREBOARD (DONATED BY CHOICE BOTTLING CO.)
WILL, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING AN INVOLVED, CARING PARENT IN THIS COMMUNITY THAT IS TRULY COMMITTED TO CHAPEL GROVE OPTIMIST CLUB.

All of us at Chapel Grove Optimist Club would like to thank Home Depot and Concrete Supply, for all of their help with the new addition to the Concession stand.
The addition to the concession will be a great improvement to the park. This is the first major improvement at has been done to the park in long time. All the members at Chapel Grove Optimist are committed to given are children, and our community a great park to enjoy. We hope this will be the first of many projects here at the Park.
We would like to thank Jessie, Will, Tony, and Leslie for all of their efforts to get this project going. We would also like to thank all of the people that volunteered their time to help work on the new addition.

SPONSORS NEEDED
It may seem un-personal and too direct, but Optimist Clubs need $$$$$$$ to operate... We do fundraisers but WE NEED YOUR HELP !!! If you are a business owner that wants advertisement by helping the youth in YOUR COMMUNITY, we have a few options for you. During every sport, except football, we are allowed to put sponsor names on the back of the shirt (above the childs playing number). We also offer a sponsor to put their name on the sleeve of the uniform, or both sleeves . AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH SEASON WE OFFER $100.00 SPONSORSHIPS FOR THE BACK OF TEE SHIRTS . YOUR NAME WILL BE LISTED ON THAT SHIRT ALONG WITH ANY OTHERS THAT PAY $100.00 SPONSOR FEE. Each child for that signs up for that seasonal sport will recieve a tee shirt with a sport logo on the front & a list of $100.00 sponsors. YOUR COMPANY NAME WILL ALSO BE PUT ON OUR WEBSITE AS A APPRECIATED SPONSOR (WE WILL BE GLAD TO LIST ADDRESS & PHONE NUMBER OF YOU COMPANY FOR YOUR ADVERTISEMENT). "I'm just a volunteer...."
"I'm just one of those unpaid people who have spent many hours making sure that your child has a safe, competitive place to play. I've sacrificed time with my own family to insure you can have a quality time with yours. When your child shows up to play, I'm the one that made sure everything was ready, when you go home, I'm the one who cleans up after you. I'm the one who organized the facilities, the equipment, the officials, your coaches, and your teammates. I can't control the weather, the outcome of games, or the actions of individuals, yet I take the blame for everything that goes wrong. My job wouldn't be so difficult if more people decided to volunteer. We need more hands, good ideas, strong workers, and leaders with vision. Instead of pointing out our problems, become part of the solution and volunteer today."

MEMBERSHIP MAY
LAST YEAR WE KICKED OFF OUR PROGRAM TO DO "MEMBERSHIP MAY". DURING THE MONTH OF MAY WE WILL BE ASKING PARENTS, COACHES, & COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO BECOME A MEMBER OF CHAPEL GROVE OPTIMIST CLUB. YES, WE WANT CALM, LEVEL HEADED, HARD WORKING & WILLING MEMBERS. EVERY OPTIMIST CLUB IS BUILT OF VOLUNTEERS THAT ENJOY BEING AROUND CHILDREN AND CREATING A ENVIRONMENT THAT THE KIDS CAN FEEL SAFE IN. YOU MAY BE INTERESTED IN HELPING SOME BUT DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO BE INVOLVED ON A "FULL TIME" LEVEL. ANY TIME THAT YOU COULD CONTRIBUTE WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED BY THE EXISTING MEMBERS. AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, CHAPEL GROVE OPTIMIST LOST A LONG TIME FRIEND RECENTLY (7/22/04). TAYLOR SCOTT HANNAH WAS 11 YEARS OLD AND PLAYED FOOTBALL, BASEBALL & BASKETBALL OVER THE YEARS , SINCE AGE 4. HE ACCIDENTLY ENDED HIS LIFE BEFORE WE WERE READY. WE WILL ALL MISS HIM AND THE WAY HE ALWAYS SEEMED TO MAKE US SMILE. HE HAS HAD AN IMPACT ON THE CHAPLE GROVE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS SURROUNDING AREAS & CHURCHES. CHAPEL GROVE OPTIMIST & TAYLORS FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE THAT HAS TAKEN THE TIME TO RAISE MONEY OR GIVE A DONATION TOWARD HIS FUNERAL EXPENSES. YOUR EFFORTS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. CHAPEL GROVE IS STARTING A NEW PROGRAM INVOLVING A FEW GOOD KIDS. WE NEED KIDS WITH GOOD GRADES THAT WOULD LIKE TO WRITE SHORT ARTICLES ON THE EVENTS THAT HAPPEN AT CHAPEL GROVE. WE WOULD LIKE THEM TO HAVE GOOD GRADES SO THAT WE DO NOT INTERFER WITH THEIR CLASSWORK OR HOMEWORK. SOME MAY WANT TO TAKE PHOTOS AND OTHERS MAY WANT TO DO THE WRITING. THEY WILL ALL REPORT BACK TO A DESIGNATED CHAPEL GROVE MEMBER FOR REVIEW AND FINAL PUBLISHING. WE WILL NEED SPONSORS ALSO FOR THIS PROGRAM TO PAY FOR THE COPIES. ALL HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. ****WE WOULD LIKE TO SEND THE NEWSLETTER OUT TWICE PER MONTH - SOME MONTHS MAY ONLY HAVE 1- DEPENDING ON EVENTS AND MANPOWER.

ON DEMAND PHOTOGRAPHY
Our club has been using On Demand Photography for a few years, formerly known as Terry Honeycutt Photography. We have been very pleased with the quality & service that we have recieved from them. There have been few problems and all have been handled very well through them. Normally we schedule pictures and hand out a picture packet along with a note showing your teams photo time slot. You must prepay for the picture packet you choose and they take approximately 2 - 3 weeks to come back. Meanwhile, we get picture buttons to sell to you & your family. They are 2 buttons for $5 or 1 button for $3. We normally keep the pictures until we have the banquet for that sport. This is to make sure we have everyone present to give out photos & trophies. --- It is very difficult for us to carry around 80-120 picture packets in order to try to catch parents at practice. Please understand that we risk bending the photos - this is our reason for holding them until the banquet.
