The new MYWA Dual Meet league teams have been set. Our teams are Billerica, Burlington, Chelmsford, North Andover and Tewksbury. The schedule so far has been updated and added to website. We will begin wrestle offs as early as Tuesday December 11, 2012 and continue until we have all the weights filled. Official Weigh ins will be before our first meet in Nashua Saturday Morning January 5th.

Middle School Flight Grades 5-8:
1. Weigh-ins from 6:30 – 7:30 AM
2. Wrestling begins @ 9 AM
Grade School Flight Grades K-4:
1. Weigh-ins from 11:30 AM –12:30 PM
2. Wrestling begins @ 2 PM
Participation Fee: $15 per wrestler(For speed and efficiency, teams are reminded that each wrestler should have their own registration fee)
Admission Fee: $3 for Adults and teens (children under 12 free)
Tourney Style: Round-robin brackets of approximately 4 wrestlers. Each wrestler will compete in three matches. Matches will consist of 3 one-minute periods (1-1-1). At the beginning of each flight all weight classes will be assigned to a specific mat that you remain at for all of your matches.
Grouping: Wrestlers are grouped by age, weight, and ability. Two divisions will be formed based on Tournament experience, athleticism, and toughness.Coaches: Please use integrity in assigning your wrestlers to the appropriate division. Coaches are encouraged to move athletic/tough wrestlers with little experience to the Select.
Novice Division – Little to no Experience (less than 3 tournaments)
Select Division - Experience of 3 or more tournaments.

Directions: Route 3 North or South to Exit 32 (Drum Hill) take Westford Road exit off rotary. Bear right (twice) onto Richardson Road. Continue to third entrance for the high school (on right) Follow the entrance road to the gym. (Directions are also on our website)
Referees: Certified referees and a Head Referee will handle any issues that may arise.
Clinic: A Clinic will be held before each flight included with your registration fee, time permitting of course. Feedback on these clinics has been excellent.(Last year; Mike Marshall of Doughboy and Shaun Harrington from Brick House).

WRESTLER WHO HAVE PREREGISTERED AND PAID DO NOT NEED TO PAY FOR THIS EVENT.. NEW UNREGISTERED, AND UNPAID WRESTLERS WILL NEED TO PAY $20 AT THE REGISTRATION.

What a weekend for CYW at the 2012 North Sectional Tourney as the team took home 2 team trophies.

CYW Team places 2nd at MYWA States and qualifies 14 for Youth New Englands!!!!
On Sunday February 26th, Chelmsford Youth Wrestling sent 24 wrestlers to the MYWA State Championship at Algonquin Regional High School in Northboro MA. Fourteen wrestlers received top awards by placing in the top 6 of their weight brackets and will move on to compete in the Youth New Englands at Nashua South High School March 10 & 11.
CYW also scored high in the Team standings taking 2nd out of 87 teams in the 7th and 8th grade division and 3rd out of 54 teams in the 5th and 6th grade division.
Individual place finishers are below;
First Place: Griffin Murray 98lb (7th/8th) and Joe Vecchione 110lb (5th/6th). Second Place: Danny Bates 119lb (7th/8th), Ryan Cove 169lb (7th/8th) and Finn Murray 84lb (5th/6th). Third Place: Kyle McQuaide 140lb (7th/8th) and Lucas Cordio 110lb (5th/6th). Fourth Place: Tyronne Phet 134lb (7th/8th) and Peter McCarthy 84lb (5th/6th). Fifth Place: Connor Clausen 84lb (7th/8th) and Joseph Goulart 73lb (5th/6th). Sixth Place: David Goodall 147lb (7th/8th), Joey Neylon 84lb (7th/8th) and DJ Fraser 104lb (5th/6th).
Also competing for the Lions were Matthew Kilmartin, Carlos Urbina, Devon Giannino, Aiden Ahern, Zach Jarnagin, Evan Goodall, Zach Reynolds, Jack Stansfield, Timothy Scaplen and Andrew Petraglia.

On Saturday March 10th and Sunday March 11th, Chelmsford Youth Wrestling sent 21 wrestlers to the 2012 Youth New Englands Tournament at NashuaSouthHigh School in Nashua, NH. Nine wrestlers received top awards by placing in the top 6 in their weight brackets in three divisions, intermediate (3 & 4), Novice (5 & 6) and Middle School (7 & 8).
Second Place: Patrick Hughes 60lb (Intermed Div), Joe Vecchione 110lb (Novice Div.), Kyle McQuaide 140lb (Middle School Div).
Third Place: Kailen Richards 52lb (Intermed Div), David Goodall 147lb (Middle School Div) and Ryan Cove 170.
Fourth Place:Griffin Murray 98lb (Middle School Div).
Fifth Place: Lucas Cordio 110lb (Novice Div) and Danny Bates 119lb (Middle School Div).
Also completing for the Lions were Nicholas Giannino, John Fraser, Johnathan Powers, Zach Reynolds, Joseph Goulart, Evan Goodall, Peter McCarthy, Finn Murray, DJ Fraser, Joe Neylon, Connor Clausen and Tyronne Phett.
Chelmsford also scored high in the overall team standings taking 3rd out of 223 Teams from 6 different states in all divisions. Chelmsford also placed 3rd in the Middle School Division. This caps an extremely successful 2012 for the young Lions.
Chelmsford Youth Wrestling Awarded 2013 North Sectional
Chelmsford MA - For the 4th year in a row, Chelmsford Youth Wrestling will be hosting a MYWA (Massachusetts Youth Wrestling Association) Sanctioned tourney for 2013.
The Purpose of this document is to identify the official CYW Tourneys that we go to as a team.There many other tourneys and wrestlers are free to go if they choose to.We will even post information about the other tourneys (participating in the other tournaments must not interfere or conflict with CYW team events).When attending or competing in any CYW event, wrestlers must wear their CYW uniforms. No private club uniforms are to be worn while wrestling for CYW.After the season you are welcome to wear other uniforms to club events, or when traveling out of state with those teams.

Do you have questions about our program? Suggestions for our web site? We are becoming an increasingly popular program in Chelmsford that is hugely supported by parent volunteers. We couldn't do it alone! It's FUN. Are you interested in volunteering? Even an hour or so, here and there is greatly appreciated. We welcome your ideas or suggestions, and need your help to continue to be successful.
We will have a training seesion with kap wrestling from 4-5 pm before weighins for all scorers for sections, states & new englands. Please make every effort to attend.
