Babe Ruth Rules
General Babe Ruth Rules

Babe Ruth Rules are very similar to High School Rules

All student-athletes play on a Regulation Diamond with Grass Infields (90-ft basepaths and 60-ft,6-in pitching distance with a mound). Playing on the larger diamond assures the student-athlete that they will never have to adjust to another playing dimension again. This allows players to develop the defensive fundamentals of the game and they get an advantage over their peers by gaining experience and confidence on a larger diamond.

Players are not labeled by skill level and are allowed to develop during practices and games. Inexperienced players gain confidence and fundamental skills by being challenged every day. Experienced players gain leadership qualities by mentoring the inexperienced player.

The regular season begins in mid-April and ends at the end of June. This gives families the opportunity to take a vacation prior to Fall Ball.

For the committed player we offer post-season play through July and possibly into August. Teams are unified by age group during the post-season. Generally, 13-year olds will play with and against other 13-year olds, and so on. We encourage every player to play in the post-season as it is a fun and challenging atmosphere and is a great opportunity to compete against teams around the state and region.

And finally, Fall Ball begins prior to Labor Day and ends in mid-October. This is a relaxed atmosphere that focuses on fundamental development and plays games on weekends.
