The Black Knights began play in the 14U Championships Tuesday night in Game #1 against the ECB Stars. The Black Knights rolled from the very start with a decisive 14-1 victory. Behind an incredible hitting diplay, the Black Knights got a solid pitching performance from Larry Meisner. The Black Knights defense was outstanding as they shut down the ECB Stars offense and cruised to victory.
On Wednesday night the Black Knights faced the always tough ECB Titans. The Black Knights played solid defense but could not get a timely hit as they fell in a hard fought game 4-1.
On Thursday night the Black Knights played a double header. The first game was against the ECB Indians and the Black Knights came out of the gate on fire. From the first inning on, the Black Knight hitters jumped all over the Indians pitching. Behind solid defense and an outstanding performance on the mound by Seth Sumrell, the Black Knights stormed to a 13-3 victory.
In game 2 on Thursday the Black Knights faced the ECB Pride. Fresh off a victory over the Titans, the Pride looked to avenge an earlier defeat to the Black Knights this season. The Black Knights wanted to show the earlier victory over the Pride wasn't a fluke and jumped all over the Pride pitcher in the first inning with 4 runs. That would be enough runs as Coleman Wellstead, Larry Meisner and Will Lovett would combine for solid pitching. In the end the Black Knights would easily handle the Pride with a 12-3 victory.
The Black Knights would end the 14U ECB Championship with a 3 and 1 record.
