    PICTURE OF COMMITTMENT
March 31, 2007  --   KIDS do what kids do .... and do it well!

    PUBLIX PATRONS PARTICIPATE
March 31, 2007  --   A big thank you to all the generous support given by the customers of Publix on Saturday. In all the team was given over $600 in donations toward the team costs and general fund. Thank you to Store Manager - Mike Schreffler for allowing us to mingle in front of his store.

The boys succesfully behaved well and interacted with the folk coming and going from Publix at Winter Springs Towne Center.

Thank you to the parents that helped supervise as well.
A great job by everyone that made it happen!

    BIG NEEDS require BIG DEEDS
February 22, 2007  --   Time is ticking for the FIRE as they play into their season banking on the faith of those generous folks out there that would help see to it that the club makes it to Cooperstown in addition to all the other budgeted events on the calendar. The additional invitation to play in Cooperstown caught both team organizer and founder, Mark Schanback; as well as the Head Coach, Ralph Nenna off guard. "No one was more suprised than us" , was quoted the Coach. As a result of this BIG NEED of approximately another $8000 the Fire budget just doubled from $8000 to play in about 40 games (including 6-7 tourney events) up to $16000. "We are pulling out all the stops", was quoted Mark Schanback. The club will hold 50/50 drawings and look for additional sponsors. So far Chris Rollins leads the sponsor charge with the HOME RUN sponsor WILLIAMS CO. Leading the way, Chris also brought in Base-Hit sponsor Eagle Fire Protection . Mark Schanback has received some SACRIFICE BUNT donations from Mr. & Mrs. Steven Schrimsher. Other in-kind donations to date are from LAUNCH PAD for two SLUGGER PASSES valued at nearly $500 each. The strength of this program is the volunteer spirit and belief in these boys to become leaders both on and off the field of play. The season will contiue with all sorts of fundraiser activity going around. Ingrid Ortiz is championing the 50/50 Drawings of appreciation. Doreen Edler is heading up the concession activity for the Pitch Hit and Run Day. The support of PUBLIX grocery store is also a big part of our campaign as we are now booked for our second event to plea for help for our cause of these boys one-on-one in front of the stores on a Saturday. We are stretched thin by all this activity but we are committed to keeping these players in a position to receive the best opportunity to excel and experience the most possible during their time with the FIRE BASEBALL FAMILY. We thank all the folks giving of their time treasure and talents in this 2007 season. So, thank you on behalf of the boys, and their parents.
