Freedom Finalists Again in Fall Classic!
November 21, 2004 --
On Sunday, November 21st at Tyrell Field, the Freedom took the enventual champions, Ashburn Wildfire, to double overtime in a thrilling championship match for the Mid-County Soccer Fall Classic title. In the end, Ashburn was able to score two quick goals with just minutes remaining before penalty kicks, winning 2-0. It was an exciting and hard-fought game against a very talented opponent. Our girls rose to the challenge, having to play them twice in a row on Sunday. The finalist trophy, being unexpected given the division structure, was a nice surprise!
Congratulations again to our girls for being Finalists in the their first two tournaments they've played as a team. It's an outstanding accomplishment and bodes well for the future of the team as a contender in the games to come. They played like Champions!!
Final Results:
Freedom v SYC Surge (1-0)
Freedom v MCSA Dragons (1-1)
Freedom v Ashburn Wildfire(0-1)
Freedom v Ashburn Wildfire (0-2) - Double over-time victory for Ashburn. Great game by all!
Let Freedom Reign!!!!!!
