We are looking for new players as well as new teams to join our league for the 2010 season. New teams are reviewed in January and approved in February. Team requirements are that you have a minimum of 15 players 30 years or older on your roster that can be verified. The GSBL can provide new managers with a database of potential players (folks that sign up through the website). Individual registrations must be filled out for each player. A home field and field permits for a minimum of 6 games. A league entry fee that will be set for each team in January. Please contact the GSBL for any further information.

Help Us Help You
April 16, 2005 --
Here is an email that I received from George Scione of the Nashua Telegraph...
Mike,
I would be glad to push the Web site and your league. As was the case last year, we really started putting more emphasis on your baseball league and I want that to grow even more.
Is there a way to get the managers or captains from teams to e-mail in game summaries following every game. I got Nashua stuff last year, but I'd like all the teams to send in a little something. Nothing long just a simple three to five paragraph writeup with the score, leading hitters and pitchers. A simple game brief you would see on a normal pro game in a league wrapup. I hope this is something we could do.
Again, I want to run the sked and standings on a weekly basis with scores and the next few weeks of sked mixed with photos from local games and features on the local athletes. What can we do to make The Telegraph the paper that people look for when they want to learn even more about the Over-30 League?
In the words of Jerry Maguire "Help Me Help You!"
Thanks,
George
George would like to run weekly summaries of our games in the Nashua Telegraph. I am asking for anyone's help in giving him something to print each week. This does not have to be from the team managers. Anyone can can send George an email. His email address is: scioneg@telegraph-nh.com
This is another opportunity for us to gain more exposure for the league. There have been posts on our forum saying that we do not have enough sponsorship...well this is a step to get more sponsorship by getting more exposure. The more folks see our league the more they will want to get involved. So I am asking you to help provide small game summaries to the nashua telegraph.

A message from the league president....
I believe our league can continue to be the premier over 30 men's league and I plan on living up to that belief. There are two things that I will keep in mind when I make every decision connected with our league: fairness and good sportsmanship. Those two principals will be first and foremost on my mind during every decision. I expect GSBL players and managers to abide by all league laws. Players should keep a positive attitude towards the game, other players, umpires, managers and league officers and play with good sportsmanship at all times.
For those of you that know how I play baseball I think I could best be described as a free swinger. If I think I can make contact I swing. If I'm hitting well I swing. If I'm slumping I swing. My points is you can't hit the ball if you don't swing. This is our league. It belongs to all of us. If any of you do not like the direction something is going let your opinion be known. Show up at a league meeting and ask questions. Send an email to me or any of the other league officers. Remember that things can not change if the issue is not known. If you want your manager to make sure your team's statistics are updated on the website let your opinion be known, or better yet, volunteer to do it yourself. Take a swing. If there is one thing I would like to see more of in our league it is for players to step up and volunteer more as liaisons, or to keep the team stats on the website, or to be on the rules committee. We are all a talented bunch on and off the field. If you have any skills that can help the league please volunteer.
For our league to succeed it requires a lot of work by great people that have volunteered their time. Get involved....the world is run by the people who show up.

2005 All Star Game
The 2005 GSBL All Star Game was played at Holman Stadium in Nashua on July 28th. Mother nature helped (finally) by providing a dry night where the temperature strayed at about 70 degrees. You could not ask for a better night. There was truly great baseball played from both teams. The players showed why each was chosen to represent their teams. Switch hitting Aaron Krycki of the Cardinals led the way for the Grey All Stars by getting 3 hits including a double. Ken Beers of the Broncos and George Gatzimos of the Dodgers drove in the two runs for the Blue All Stars. Sean Riley of the Yankees impressed many when he took the mound for two innings and striking out two. Ken Beers also had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases. Bill Jones of the Yankees doubled off the wall off Senators pitcher John Roper. Killer Kilbane of the Cubs and Mike Ciano of the Rockies had 2 hits a piece for the Grey All Stars. The Nashua Cubs grabbed the night's attention by supplying the most fans from any team in the league. In the end, all of the players and the crowd witnessed a great night of fun, comradery and BASEBALL! Thanks to the players and the fans for coming out. Look forward to seeing everyone next year.
