    Oct 4th meeting information:
We are forming this Lacrosse program for the Youth of Hernando County.

Harry Johnson, Recreation Manager introduced Christie Williams as the Liaison to the Lacrosse program from the County Recreation Department, and Greg Longo as the Program Lead for Lacrosse working with Christie.

The Coaches that we currently have working on the plan are:
    Greg Longo
    Mario Littman
    Carmen Rufa
    Colby Murty
    Sean Arnold

Our Mission: To provide the youth of Hernando County an opportunity to participate in the exciting game of lacrosse. Focus of the program is on teamwork, sportsmanship, learning new skills and traditions of the game.

This mission is something all the Coaches take seriously. We want to ensure that our kids have fun, learn about the game, some of its history and traditions, and also teach proper fundamental lacrosse skills combined with good sportsmanship. Its something we are all passionate about.

    August 26, 2005  --   Frequent Asked Questions:

Question: What age groups are we targeting?
Answer: This program intends to start with a 4-6th grade Youth team, and a 7-8th grade Middle school team. 9-12th grade High School

Question: Is this program for Boys, Girls, or Both?
Answer: Both, at the Youth and Middle School level, it is common for both Boys and Girls to play on the same team. We welcome both boys and girls. Many of the basic stick skills carry over to both versions of the game, but we will be teaching and playing to the Boys rules.

Question: I have heard, and seen Lacrosse, but have no experience. Can I still join?
Answer: YES, this program will offer new, experienced players an opportunity to grow there skills. Please take a moment to read our mission statement. This program will be a fun time for all involved.

Question: Can I use my own equipment if I already have it?
Answer: YES, as long as your equipment meets the current US Lacrosse Standards, and is in working condition.

Question: Can I use a Hockey helmet instead of a Lacrosse?
Answer: NO, Lacrosse helmet's are designed specifically for lacrosse, and for insurance reasons we need to mandate that only approved lacrosse helmets are used.

Answer: As part of your registration to the program, you will be able to purchase all the required equipment needed from a company we have secured team pricing with as a new startup. This will be an option you can decide at Registration, and the equipment will be on hand for you to be fitted properly. I have included some equipment companys on the links tab.
