Breakfast Meet & Greet for Swim Team

On Sunday, September 13th, the Father's Guild will be hosting a breakfast meet & greet for Holy Name Parish and Sports at Shepherd's Hall (Behind the Holy Name Church). The time will be after the 10:30 and 12 Noon Mass. We will be there with information and merchandise for sale. On this date we will be taking names for a wait list. If you know someone that wants to swim on the team, please let them know where to meet us on Sept. 13th at Shepherd's Hall.
We have not set any dates yet as to when we will begin. We will recruit based on the number of returning girls.

Parent Information Night

There will be a Parent Information Night on Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 at 7:30 PM in Shepherd's Hall located in the basement of Holy Name Church.
Shepherd's Hall is in the basement of Holy Name Church on
Prospect Park West between Windsor Terrace and Prospect Avenue
(To reach the Hall, enter the parking lot on PPW and make a right turn.)
We will be reviewing the practice dates, pool locations, events and important information needed.
We will begin measuring the girls for their team swim suit. Please bring the girls for swim suit measurements.
You may bring the registration form and check to us on Wednesday if you haven't sent it in already.
We will also be selling the following:
Swim suits $20
Goggles $8.
Caps $5.
Swim bags $10.
Supplies are limited so it's first come first served!
We are looking forward to see you all!!

SWIM PRACTICE ETIQUETTE
->It is advised that you do not eat less than 30 minutes before practice
->Please arrive 15 minutes before Practice (we only have an hour)
->Please wear your suit to Practice (the locker room is small)
-> PLEASE DO NOT WEAR ANY JEWELRY, INCLUDING EARRINGS, TO PRACTICE
->Parents may view the practice from the door window at the foot of the stairs (no parents are allowed on the deck)

-> If you know that you cannot make a Meet before the day of the Meet, tell your coach at practice or click on the mailbox below (lefthand corner) and send me an e-mail.
IF ON THE DAY OF THE MEET, YOU CANNOT MAKE THE MEET, YOU MUST CALL ONE OF THE FOLLOWING NUMBERS BEFORE 5:00 PM.

CYO PRE-MEET PROTOCOL
CYO PRE-MEET PROTOCOL
The Cathloic Youth Organization (CYO), the group that runs our swim league, has asked that the attached protocol be used before our meets this season. Though specially designed for CYO, the protocol is modeled after similar procedures used by the NCAA and CHSAA.

Attached in the Handouts Section of this website is the contact sheet for the CYO Boys Swim Teams. If you have a boy that is interested in joining a team, you should try contact these teams in the Spring because the Boys Season starts in the beginning of September.

Subject:New HNSS Girls Swim Team Web Site
Fellow Team Parents-
We are going to try something different this year. Instead of sending out long e-mails with large attachments, we are going to try to use this website. Try bookmarkinging this page or saving it to your "Favorites". You should be able to save the first step the next time you go to the site. The site should almost completely populated.
This site now has our calendar, schedule, instructions for practices and meets, and directions and maps to the pools. This site will also eventually have the results from our meets and any special news such as a canceled practice or meet.
This site will not have our roster or any information about the girls.
I know that this website is somewhat cheesy and has some ads attached, but its free and it should make it easier for you to obtain information about the Team. I will continue to send out e-mails when warranted and to alert you when new information has been added to the site.
