KASA Baseball joins Cedar Creek Area Little League
As some have heard through the grapevine or just around town. As of Kemp's 2009 baseball season we will be involved with Cedar Creek Area Little League instead of TTAB. With this being said it changes the way alot of things are done. All registration cost, field maintenance, team fees, sponsors, and anything else involving baseball in Kemp except the ownership of the field has been transferred from KASA to Cedar Creek Area Little League. The boundaries in which teams will be established will be from Crandall to Eustace down to Malakoff to Trindad and back up the county line to Crandall. We are expecting alot of changes in the upcoming season and look forward to have the support of the whole area. We have the usage of fields in Kemp, Seven Points, and Gun Barrel City. Please look to the new site at www.leaguelineup.com/ccall for updated info. Also you can go to www.littleleague.com; http://www.eteamz.com/llbsouthwestern/; http://www.texasdistrict8.org/ for more information we are in District 8 Southwestern Region of Little League International. Over the next couple of weeks we will be doing membership drives for volunteers and a support staff for anyone interested in:
1. Coaching and Managing
2. Umpiring
3. Concessions and fund-raising
4. Board Members
5. Field Acquirement and Maintenance
6. Representative
7. Just general membership
Please let me know. On the district 8 website you will find a copy of our boundaries set forth by Little League at this point. Attached is a copy of a Volunteer Application and Membership form if you are interested in any of the 7 positions above, all future meetings will be posted on the Cedar Creek Area Website and we look forward to having people come enjoy the goals we are setting with this new organization.

birth certificate
Please forward this email and tell everyone you know that has ever had anything to do with KASA.
As of Sunday, August 17, 2008, KASA will no longer hold onto any birth certificates. As of Monday, August 18, 2008, KASA will no longer hold onto any physicals either.
If you are a parent and want your child's birth certificate and physical back you will need to get in touch with Dorinda McNutt. Any birth certificates and physicals that have not been collected by Saturday, August 30, 2008, will be shredded.
Sports Commissioners and Coaches make sure you or your team mom turns birth certificates and physicals back over to the parents at the end of every ball season.
I realize everyone will be wondering why the change. It is because this is a safety precaution and everyone's privacy should be protected. These are legal documents that should only be in the hands of the parents during the off seasons.
Thank you for your support in this matter.

Scurry vs. Kemp Re-Match Game
August 9, 2008 - 08:00 AM --
Come out and watch the Coaches and Umpires from Scurry and Kemp team up against each other on a fast pitch baseball game. This game is a rematch from the game on the 19th between the two teams in which Kemp won by only 1 point in the seventh inning. These guys put on a heck of a game last Saturday for everyone to see and please come out and watch a good baseball game. Any other Adult teams that might be interested in playing ball let us know we are playing to have fun and enjoy the game of baseball. Please note that this game will be played at 8:00 am not PM
GAME 1 - Game on the 19th of July was a nail bitter between Kemp and Scurry. These games are set at 7 innings with a 60 ft. mound and 80 ft bases. We had a good showing of people to watch the game but it was later in the day and was extremely hot. Kemp won the game in the 7th by 1 point final score :
Scurry - 10
Kemp - 11
GAME 2 - Game was on the 9th of August at 9:00 am and got a late start due to the lovely players of Kemp. Kemp started out the game with 8 players and fell behind early. Scurry had a good team combined with the help of folks from Eustace. (Thanks to all that showed up) Scurry grew a demanding lead of 5 after 4 innings but Kemp was not going down without a fight. It was a great game, we would like to see more folks out to watch but understand with the early game. Pictures will be posted soon. Scurry won the game by 3 after 7 innings, final score :
Scurry - 11
Kemp - 8
Game 3 - The series is 1-1 and both teams are looking forward to Game 3 in Kemp. The dates will be announced later and will be in the morning. These teams should have a good showing this game and both teams are looking for the bragging rights. Come out and watch this game and cheer on your favorite team.
