Trenton Hires New Coach
May 4, 2007 --
Trenton ISD recently hired a new Head Volleyball Coach to take over the up-and-coming Trenton High School program. Allen Hilsdon comes to Trenton from Honey Grove High School where he coached Girls Cross Country, Junior High Girls Basketball and Softball.
Coach Hilsdon resided in Fannin County, about 3 miles from Trenton, with his wife, Jayme, and 10-year old son, Jeffrey.
Coach Hilsdon moved to Fannin County in April 2005 from Allen. He moved to Texas in 1997 from Arkansas. Hilsdon graduated from Mississippi State University in 1992 with a degree in Education. He ran Cross Country there and worked with the Women's Volleyball and Women's Basketball programs. He also worked Intramural Sports, including volleyball, and worked as a NCAA Volleyball Official.
He has started working on the 2007 volleyball season already and looks forward to working with the girls, starting August 6th.

Collinsville Highlights Trenton's Schedule
2007 Schedule

Not every year do you get to see the Defending State Champions in action, unless you are in the district with Collinsville High School, then you get to see them 3 times.
The Trenton High School Volleyball schedule has been released and Collinsville, still in District 13-1A, highlights the schedule. Trenton will also travel to Howe and Roxton for what are going to be great tournaments. The Lady Tigers open the 2007 season at Bells. Trenton's first home look will be Sept. 4th when Bells finishes up the home-and-home series.

Returning Teacher, New Coach
May 16, 2007 --
Trenton High School has added another Volleyball coach to assist newly hired Head Volleyball Coach Allen Hilsdon. Middle School Science Teacher Stephanie McPherson will be working with Coach Hilsdon and the 2007 Lady Tigers. Coach McPherson came to Trenton in 2006 as a new teacher from Texas Tech University where she played Club Volleyball. The hire at Trenton brough Coach McPherson back to her roots to teach, graduating from Blue Ridge High School. She played four years of volleyball and softball at Blue Ridge. She was an Outside Hitter in volleyball and Coach Hilsdon hopes she bring a wealth of knowledge along to help the hitting attack.
Coach McPherson will also be an assistant in softball.

Lady Tigers Hit the Hardwood on August 6th
July 28, 2007 --
The Trenton Lady Tigers will begin preparation for the 2007 season on Monday, August 6th, at 9 am at the Trenton High School Gymnasium. All girls entering grades 9-12 whom wish to play high school volleyball will need to report to this Orientation session. All the girls will be expected to workout following the brief meeting. The girls should report in workout attire that includes court shoes, black shorts, a red shirt or a THS volleyball shirt. Workout attire will be made available for players to purchase at the meeting.
All players' parents are encouraged to attend the Orientation. The players will practice twice daily until the start of school on August 27th with their first taste of competition set for Friday, August 10th, at Tom Bean High School.

Junior Lady Tigers Debut on Thursday
August 6, 2007 - 05:00 PM --
The Junior Lady Tigers will debut on Thursday, Sept. 6th, at 5 at the Trenton Middle School Volleyball Gymnasium. Savoy will be visiting the Junior Lady Tigers for a scrimmage with the Trenton 7th and 8th Grades.
The original schedule with Collinsville and Lindsay visiting Trenton is no longer, with Collinsville and Lindsay pulling out.
All games will be played at the Trenton Middle School Volleyball Gym and the concession stand will be open.

Order Your 2007 Lady Tigers Shirt Today

The 2007 Lady Tigers Volleyball shirts are available for order. The shirts are $10 each and orders are being taken now. You may stop by the Trenton High School Office or contact Coach Allen Hilsdon at 214-707-6219 to order your shirts. You may choose to have the varsity roster on the back of the shirts or leave it blank. All shirts will be printed on a black t-shirt with red and white graphics. Orders will be taken through Monday. Trenton Takes 3rd at Roxton

August 18, 2007 --
Trenton rebounded from an up-and-down day in Roxton on Friday to a successful defeat of James Bowie High School in the 3rd place game on Saturday. No. 1 earned her first start of the season and capitalized with 13 kills, 10 aces and 4 digs for the Lady Tigers.
Trenton opened the match with a 25-18 win then took one on the chin as the Lady Tigers had trouble beaking serve for James Bowie. The Lady Tigers dropped the second game, 25-19, after trailing 23-8. Trenton took the next two games, 25-20 and 26-24.
Leonard and Avery played for the tournament title.

Lady Tigers Break into Top 20
October 8, 2007 --
The Trenton Lady Tigers broke into the Top 20 for the first time in the 2007 season. The Lady Tigers took a 20th place tie with Wolfe City in the poll released on Oct. 8th. Flatonia took over the No. 1 spot while another Fannin County team remained 6th in Dodd City. The Lady Tigers took over 2nd place in District 13-1A on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over 2-time defending State Champions Collinsville. This was the first time Trenton had beaten Collinsville on the volleyball wood.

Lady Tigers Drop Out of Top 25

The Trenton Lady Tigers dropped out of the Texas Girls Coaches Association Top 25 after suffering a 3-0 loss to Collinsville on Friday night.
The Lady Tigers get ready to face some of the teams still in the poll as No. 10 Lindsay visits Trenton on Tuesday, Oct. 23rd. Number 14 Detroit will visit Trenton on Saturday, Oct. 27th, at 3 pm, then the Lady Tigers will open Bi-District play against either No. 24 Cumby or No. 25 Wolfe City on Tuesday, Oct. 30th at 6 pm.

Gametime Change for Saturday
October 24, 2007 --
The playoff warm-up game between No. 14 Detroit and Trenton High School has been moved back to 6 pm to accomodate the Octobe Fest. This will be the last home stand for the Lady Tigers this season as the 12 girls making up this squad will take to the road for playoff action, beginning Tuesday night.
