FINA rulings on suits would apply at all sanctioned meets so swimmers should stop wearing these suits to avoid risk of disqualification.

New information on compliance with FINA regulations

As of 7th of May 2013, the following Arena POWERSKIN Carbon-Pro models are not valid anymore for FINA sanctioned events:

§  Women’s full body open back (FINA approval code AR220993)

§  Women’s full body closed back (approval code AR220994)

§  Men’s jammer (approval code AR141364).

Arena is introducing a new version of the POWERSKIN Carbon-Pro (called Mark 2), which is available with immediate effect, with the following FINA approval codes:

§  Women's full body open back – Mark 2 (AR221039)

§  Women’s full body close back – Mark 2 (AR221028)

§  Men’s jammer – Mark 2 (AR141028)

Now in its 71^st year, National Volunteer Week is all about volunteer recognition.
This year’s celebration takes place the week of April 21 to 27, 2013.

Canada’s volunteers make a tremendous contribution in communities across the country and around the globe.
They make our communities resilient and our country vibrant.

April 17th has been declared National Officials Day to recognize those who serve as officials in sports across Canada. Thank you to all LLSC members who have volunteered time to help out at our swim meets in the many different jobs.

Swimmers Alex Diaz and Craig Mathieson have been selected to the Prospects West BC Team. Congratulations to Alex and Craig!

The Prospects West Training Camp and Tri-Meet will take place in Kamloops next Thursday April 18 through Sunday April 21.
This annual event will see 96 swimmers from BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan come together to learn and compete.

Congratulations to Ebony for swimming her 200 IM in under 4:00 to qualify for regional meets. Ebony, Enrika, Pierson, Ashlinn, Kaybe, Angelina, Hanna, Dawson and Delaneyall swam to 100 per cent best times! Way to swim!

No kickboxing today! The company has recently moved to a new location and the renovations are not complete.
Gold swimmers can swim at JBMAC from 5-6:30pm tonight. Silver swimmers will follow their regular schedule at JBMAC.

 On Saturday, LLSC had two swimmers that won medals and qualified for Age Group Championships.
Craig Mathieson and Christina Russo collected their third, and final, Age Group time to qualify for Age Group Championships this July in Montreal.
Craig won Silver in 200 Breast (2.27.07) and Christina won Bronze in 100 fly (1.03.40).

On Sunday, Craig Mathieson won Silver in 100 Breast with a time of 1:07.67, another new Age Group time!

The following swimmers achieved a new Age Group Time during the weekend:  Alex Diaz in 400 Free and 1500 Free; Jamie Sullivan in 200 Back; Craig Mathieson in 100 Back, 200 IM, 200 Breast and 100 Breast; and Christina Russo in 100 Fly.
Many of our LLSC swimmers had personal best times, some swimmers had many!

At the recent LLSC Jamboree, five swimmers swam 200 IM under four minutes to qualify for Regional swim meets.
Congratulations to  Taysah Boulter (3:49.75); Dawson Boys-Kerekes (3:14.72); Ebony Dawick (3:45.92); Kaitlyn Luchka (3:52.18) and Gavin Newall (3:54.92).

Thank you to all the volunteers for your help at the Jamboree this Saturday.
The meet was successful and the swimmers had a good time.

Congratulations to Alex Strobel for swimming the 200 IM in 3:56.39 at the KISU Jamboree on Friday January 11th.  
Alex now qualifies to swim at Regional Meets.

For the AA Championships meet at Surrey in February, rooms must be booked by January 6, 2013.

Kierra Smith, former LLSC swimmer now at University of Minnesota, placed 1st in 200 Yard Breast; 3rd in 100 Yard Breast; and 2nd in 200 Yard IM.

Come and learn what is a stroke infraction and a "legal" turn. The clinic will be conducted by Bruce Pipher, National Level Certified Referee.

All post-dated cheques for the season will be collected at registration.
This will save the club several thousands of dollars in credit card processing fees.
Thus, we feel the financial benefits are worth the extra effort for all of us.
We wanted to make sure you were all aware of this so that you have time to order a supply of cheques.
Pre-Comp registrations will be the same as last year, and can be paid in full with a credit card at the time of registration.
