New Player to Murrayhill:

If you are new to Murrayhill, we strongly encourage you to make sure that you reside within our boundaries. If you are not within our boundaries, you will not be allowed to play in Murrayhill Little league. Please go to the link below, type in your street address then select your street address from the search results.


Washington County


Select your address from the list of addresses. Next, select the District Overlay information.

Look for the line: Elementary School Attendance Area. This line must say one of the following five schools: Fir Grove, Hiteon, Scholls Heights, Sexton Mountain or Nancy Ryles. If this line says any other school, then you cannot play in Murrayhill Little League. Even if your child attends one of these schools on an open enrollment basis your child will not be able to participate. Little League International establishes each leagues' boundaries. We are required to follow these rules.

Once You have established that you reside within our boundaries, you can register online.

If you are a new player to Murrayhill Little League, you must submit proof of residency. We need an original birth certificate, your child's THPRD card and a current utility bill. We will review the documents and return them to you. You can bring them to one of the baseball clinics on January 10th or 24th at Southridge High School. Or, you can bring your documents to one of the baseball tryouts at Conestoga Middle School. Check the Murrayhill website for dates and times. Your Registration is not complete until we receive these items.

Registering your Player for Murrayhill:

When you register, you will register based on your child's age. You will have an opportunity to select the division you want your child to play in later in the registration process.

You should receive a confirmation email from Active.com indicating that your child has been registered.

Descriptions of the Different Divisions:

Juniors: 13/14 year olds. This division is for the players who have aged out of Little League. Games are played on 90 foot bases. Player pitching is used exclusively.

Majors: 10/11/12 year olds. This division is for more experienced players. Players are selected to teams through a draft system. Player pitching is used exclusively.

Minors: 9/10/11 year olds. Players are selected to teams through a draft system. Player pitching is used exclusively.

Farm: Usually 8/9/10 year olds. This is for the developing player. Pitching machines are used for 4 innings per game, and player pitching 2 innings per game. It is recommended that a player wishing to play in this division have completed at least one year of COAST.

Coast: Usually 7/8 year olds. If the player is 5 or 6 years old and wants to play Coast, the player MUST have completed at least one year of T-BALL. Coach pitching is used at this level.

T-Ball: This division is for 5 and 6 year olds. Players hit a ball off a batting tee. Players will learn the fundamentals of the game.

Scholarships:

Murrayhill does provide both full and partial scholarships. To apply for a scholarship, download the THPRD Family assistance application and complete it. Here is the link to the form.

Complete the form and submit it to THPRD. You will receive an acceptance form from THPRD. Please fax a copy of the form to (503) 221-5124, Attention Kim Albert. You will receive an email with an offer code to use on the payment screen when you register.

What's Next:

Player's ages 9-14 should plan to attend a tryout. This applies to both baseball and softball. Please see the website for the dates and times.

Players ages 7 and 8 who would like to play at the Farm level should attend a farm evaluation. Please see the website for the dates and times.

Teams are formed as follows: Juniors, Majors and Minors teams are formed by a draft. majors and Minors teams will be drafted by march 3rd. Players drafted will be notified by march 4th. Junior teams will will be drafted and notified by March 14th. Farm teams will be formed and players notifed by March 12th. Coast and TBall teams will be formed and players notified by March 19th.

Practices will begin within a few days of the teams being formed. Opening day is April 3rd, 2010 for all levels.
