Mr Met's sexuality is in question.
August 8, 2007  --   Mr Met has been accused of being a homosexual. He was recently spotted at a local kareoke party with his alleged "partner" Bruce singing show tunes and dancing to Boy George albums. This distraction could not come at a worse time for the Mets as they are scheduled to face the red hot Cubs this weekend in the semi finals of the NABA playoffs. Mets officials declined to comment but noted that their mascot's sexuality would not be a distraction for the team on the field. Neither Mr or Mrs Met was available for comment.

CUBBIES TO HONOR FORMER STAR PETE LA COCK, RUMORS SWIRL THAT JOHN MORGAN MAY RETURN IN '08
August 17, 2007  --   The Cubs will honor former ladies favorite Pete La Cock by retiring his jersey before the home opener in 2008. While this should be an exciting event, news of the ceremony has been pushed to the back pages as rumors swirl that former Cub Captain John Morgan may return in '08. According to sources its not about the money. Morgan feels that the Cubs represent his best chances of claiming a 4th title before he retires. His return would certainly make the Cubs the favorites in 2008 especially if the championship were played in Hilton. Morgan cited the extremely loyal fan base as another motivating factor in his possible return.

CUBS TAKE SECOND TITLE IN THREE YEARS
August 13, 2007  --   On a hot and sunny afternoon at the immaculate John Morgan Park in Hilton, NY, the Cubbies claimed their second title in three years in the 2007 Championship game against a well dressed Mets squad. The Cubs got off to a hot start as Paul Sova struck out the side in the top half of the first. The bats were also hot in the first as Corey Blair and Jimmy Debay each had RBI singles to put the Cubs out in front 2-0. The Cubs added to their lead in the 3rd as Player-Coach of the Year Tim Sova lined an RBI single over the shortstop to score Paul Sova who had reached on an HBP and swiped second base.
Those pesky Mets would not go quietly though. Just as it seemed the Cubs would cruise to the victory the Mets scored their first run in the 4th aided by an error, a wild pitch, a balk, and then a single. The Mets’ bats then got hot in the 5th as they scored two runs on three hits and tied the game 3-3.
In typical Cubbie fashion the Cubs responded immediately with a big inning in the bottom half of the 5th. Paul Sova’s base on balls was followed by an Alex Rybczak RBI double and an RBI single from Corey Blair. With the score at 5-3 Cubs Jimmy De’Bonds put the Mets out of reach with a towering two run shot to the deepest part of John Morgan Park. The Mets added a run in the 7th but fell to the Cubs by a final score of 7-4.
Stars of the game included Paul Sova who struck out 9 on the bump, scored 3 runs and stole 3 bases, Alex Rybczak who scored twice and had 2 hits including and RBI double, Corey Blair with 2 hits, 2 RBIs and a run scored, Jimmy De’Bonds who had 2 hits including a monstrous 2 run HR and 3 RBIs, and Coach Tim Sova who contributed an RBI single and a stolen base and crafted a killer line-up. The Cubs would like to thank their fans as this season’s attendance reached a record high 32 people. Another fine season of Cubbies baseball was brought to you by Chaser Plus Caplets, Bad Newz Kennels, and Skoal Long Cut. The Cubs would like to remind you kids that if you stay in school and work hard, some day you may be a Cub.

August 3, 2007 - 05:00 PM --   Bernie Brewer said we would play but he only made 6 so Saturday's game at Hilton has been canceled.
