Booster Club Meeting
January 28, 2009 --
Thank you to everyone who showed up last night - our numbers are still a little bit down due to soccer and basketball, but we have gotten off to a great start for the year.
Thanks also to Nanette Ballard (Vicki Bramlitt has since volunteered to take this task due to sickness in Nanette's family), Samantha Morris, and David Goode who have agreed to be chairpersons of our biggest three projects - the Schedule Poster, the T-shirt Sales, and the Concession Stand. Of course, it will take all of us working on these items, but I know that they will do a good job spearheading it for us and getting us going in the right direction. We need to move as quickly as possible on the first two items, and then they will be done and over with for the year. Therefore, if you have agreed to contact various businesses, please do so as soon as possible so that we can order the Schedule Posters and get them distributed prior to the season.
Congratulations to Mike Alef who was elected the new Secretary/Treasurer. For those who have not paid your Booster Club dues, you can get that to either Mike or Frank at your earliest convenience.

Austin McDonald Field
Myrtle school is building a coach pitch/tee ball field in honor of Austin McDonald, a 12-year old young man who lost his battle with cancer two weeks ago. Austin loved baseball and the school felt this would be something that would share his story of courage and love for the game for future generations of baseball players.
Myrtle Principal Vince Jordan said in this week's New Albany Gazette that they expect it to take $6,000.00 to complete the field. All of the dirt work has already been done. He also said that through donations already made by students, teachers and area organizations, half of the money has already been raised.
Please contact Myrtle High School at 662-988-2416 and ask to speak to Principal Jordan, or head baseball coach Robert Gordon. They can give you the address to send your donations.
Thanks
PS: New Albany will be taking up donations at their State 4A Playoff game this Saturday night against Vicksburg. All money collected will go towards helping Myrtle get this field finished in time for ballgames to be played on it this summer.

Congratulations Again!!!
As the season winds down, congratulations are in order for everyone involved in the outstanding 2008 season!!! The coaches (Coach Fowler, Coach Ferrell, Coach Cox, and Coach Hicks), the seniors (Daniel Tunnell, Brock Foster, Brad Luna, Clint Hodges, Mavrik Coltharp, and Daniel Barkley), the rest of the players, the Bulldog Baseball Booster Club led by our president, Barney Hodges, and all of the families and supporters who have contributed their time, their money, and their voices in cheering on the Bulldogs deserve a huge THANK YOU!!! While we may be frustrated with not advancing to the next round we can reflect back on the hard work and the many successes of the season with a joyful heart and a thankfulness to God that we were able to be a part of it!!!
