    Latest Info
April 24,2010- bowling begins at 8:30PM due to a bowling tournament at Parkside.

    Directions for PRE-BOWLING/Substitute Bowlers:
If you can't make one of the scheduled bowling nights, EACH bowler on a team can pre-bowl up to two times during the season. Pre-bowling can only happen after the previous month's bowling was completed and BEFORE the night for which you are pre-bowling. (After two times or if you do not pre-bowl, your score for the night will be taken as your average minus 10 pins per game.) To pre-bowl: First call Parkside to make sure they have lanes available. When you get there, check in at the front desk and tell them you are there to pre-bowl for the Oakhurst Bowling League. They will give you a score sheet to fill out with your team name, Oakhurst league name and name(s) of bowlers who are pre-bowling. Bowl your three games, fill in the scores and turn it in at the desk before you leave. It's that easy. There is NO extra charge for pre-bowling, but you still need to pay your regular monthly dues to the league.

If you have someone fill in for a missing bowler on the regular night- they are PACERS, not SUBSTITUTE bowlers. Please change their status electronically on the scoring machine to PACER, the regular bowlers as ABSENT and do NOT write subs scores on the sheets. PLEASE, whatever you do, do NOT just have subs bowl in the place of the regular bowlers names on the scoring.

(Handicap, what handicap?? Several people have asked how our handicaps are figured out. We work at 90% of 200. What that means is the difference between your average and a 200 score is figured out. You then receive 90% of the difference as your handicap per game. For example, if you have a 150 average, 50 pins is the difference to 200. You would get 90% of 50 pins as your handicap- a handicap of 45.
