Runs Hard To Come By As Eagles Come Up Short
June 28, 2009  --   Oliver Aldrich pitched a solid game for the Eagles, giving up only four hits, but the run support was not there. "This was a tough game for us because I felt like we had chances to put runs on the board and we just didn't seem to get the timely hit when we needed it" said Coach Godlewski.

    Ken Cook Throws 7 Solid
June 28, 2009  --   Ken Cook had 8 Strikeouts in a dominating performance over league newcomers Sherrill. Coach Godlewski said, "Cookie is a stellar pitcher with the capability of frustrating many hitters. He can get behind in the count and then come right at you and sit you down." Billy Manley and Aaron Zrenda were the co-offensive players of the game going 3-3 at the plate and scoring three runs combined for the Eagles and each having one RBI.

Erickson Yields Only 4 Hits To Help P.N.A. Earn Split
June 27, 2009  --   Tyler Erickson produced another great pitching performance to help P.N.A. get even on the day against the Utica Brewers. "Tyler was able to keep the Utica hitters off balance the entire game" said Coach Godlewski, "It was a lot of fun to watch him do his thing." The P.N.A. Eagles jumped out early to a 2-0 lead behind hits from Aaron Zrenda and Billy Manley in the 1st Inning. The Eagles padded that lead in the second when with two down, Tucker Lancelin and Ted Mills each singled, followed by a Drew Arnesan Walk and a double by Nate Novak that brought in two more runs making it 4-0. In the 3rd, hits by Matt Eisenhuth, Oliver Aldrich and Tucker Lancelin brought in one more run to complete the scoring for the Eagles en route to a 5-3 victory.

Utica Hands P.N.A. First League Loss
June 27, 2009  --   Nate Novak kept the P.N.A. Eagles in the game for 5 solid innings of work behind 6 strikeouts. The Eagles came into the game having played only 3 previous contests compared to 16 games Utica had played. "I think that because we have had so many rain outs this season, our guys just haven't had the opportunity to see as much pitching and get as much work together as we would have hoped for by this time" said Coach Godlewski. Heading into the 6th Inning the game was knotted up 4-4. A walk followed by two singles loaded the bases in the bottom half of the 6th for Utica. "As much as I wanted to see Nate work his way out of this jam, I felt we had to try and break the rythm of a solid Utica team. With the bases loaded a fielder's choice and a strikeout had P.N.A. one out away from getting out of the inning. Unfortunately, a timely bases clearing double left the P.N.A. Eagles down 7-4 heading into the 7th. P.N.A managed to get back two of those runs in the top half of the 7th but were unable to push across the tying run to keep the game going.
