Today is the day I leave it all on the field.
Today, I will pour every ounce of effort I have into Sweet Heat Softball.
Today is the day I will show everyone what I stand for.
Respect, love, and delight are what I am made of.
I will respect my coach, my teammates, my opponents, the umpires, my parents, and most of all myself.
My love for the game will be evident by my dirt-stained jersey, the never-ending streams of sweat rolling down my cheeks, and my willingness to jump back up when it's so much easier to stay down.
The pure joy of being between those lines is shown by the smile on my face and the flutter of excitement in my soul.
At the end of the day, win or lose, I will be a better person.
I will be humble in victory and proud in defeat because no matter the outcome I did my best.
Today is the day I celebrate my God, my family, my team, and this wonderful game we call softball.
