Redbacks 2012 season starting up
February 25, 2012 – 03:30 PM
Redbacks,
Saturday training (February 25, 2012) (This is our first training of the season!!!!) :
Training will be at USF for Sat. 3:30pm.
Training will be on the sycamore fields which is the old football practice field. We will be on the closest field when you come up the dirt road off of Sycamore or elsewhere on that field if we have to share space.
Directions: (From South Tampa ) Take I-275 to Fowler Avenue . Go right (from northbound lane) towards East Fowler. Continue on Fowler until you reach the University of South Florida 's main entrance (about 5 miles). Turn left at Leroy Collins Blvd. Turn right at the next set of lights, Alumni Dr. Continue until you see training fields on your right (the front Fowler fields). These are now being used by cricket. Drive past the fields to a T-intersection. Turn left and take this road to the end (pass the Sun dome) to another T-intersection – turn right (baseball field will be on your right). Then Turn left on Sycamore. Continue on this road till you pas the softball fields and park. Walk up the dirt road and you will see fields on your right.
Let’s get good numbers so we can be prepared for the start of the season.
cheers,
Marc

August 27 Tampa - Ft. Lauderdale Game
August 27, 2005
Tampa - Fort Lauderdale game
Scores
Ft L Tampa
1st quarter 3.0 (18) 2.2 (14)
2nd quarter 7.5 (47) 4.3 (27)
3rd quarter 9.9 (63) 8.5 (53)
4th quarter 16.10 (106) 8.6 (54)
The game was played 16-on-16 in rain, overcast and windy conditions. Fort Lauderdale had a dominating defense and made better use of the breeze, which was a very strong wind in the final quarter. The game was an excellent hard fought competition which remained relatively even for three quarters, but was broken open by Fort Lauderdale in the final term.
Best on ground were Chris, Jarred, and Coops. Justin and the Bens had very good games, and David, Gavin, and Danny showed great improvement and contributions.
Due to Coach Trevor's notes being rained through, a complete record of goalkickers was lost, Multiple goalkickers included Coops, Tim, Jarred, Ben, Danny, and Benn.
Redbacks win first EAFL game
April 16, 2005 – 01:30 PM
Florida Redbacks V Baltimore Washington Eagles
In the first EAFL game of the season, Baltimore Washington traveled south to Sarasota to take on the Florida Redbacks. With little preparation done by the Eagles and a number of key players missing, the Eagles found themselves in quite the web of trouble as the Redbacks moved the ball well through the packs and pounded the Eagles' goal line with spectacular mark after mark.

Redbacks Hold Off Gallant Tigers
May 1, 2004
After their ‘surprise’ victory over Atlanta in January the pressure was placed squarely on the shoulders of the Redbacks for this game against Nth.Carolina and they handled it well as they ran away with the game in the last quarter to beat the Tigers by 18 points.

Coach Trevor's Comments
What an awesome entry into the Southeast competition with a thrilling Florida Redbacks win over a strong Atlanta Kookaburras team. Atlanta played convincingly to a 23 point advantage at half time, but Florida was determined to regroup, fight back and keep running hard to pull close by three quarter time and keep the offensive power intense while pushing ahead to a 14 point win. Preparation and training for this game was great, and the players are to be congratulated for achieving our first goal of the season, winning the Australia Day Boomerang Trophy on this second annual Australia Day Battle. Thanks to our families and fans for their personal and vocal support of the Redbacks and to Scott the umpire for his dedication to a fair and healthy development of our club in USFooty competition. Thanks also to our friendly rivals the Atlanta Kookaburras who have been our unfailing support in team development in Florida. Without their contributions and enthusiasm we would not have been able to develop as a team so quickly to this point in our second season.
