The Bandits finish the 2007 Spring campaign with a perfect 10-0 record, winning the regular season title, and winning the season-ending playoffs with a 5-4 victory over TY Sluggers at Marinelli Field.
The winning run scored on a slow roller down the third base line that Bryan Redington legged out, even with his bum knee...
As usual, the Bandits prevailed because of great pitching, solid defense, and timely hitting up and down the lineup.
The game (and 2007 spring season) ended with a nicely turned 7-4 double play when the Bandits center fielder Don Quixote made a shoestring grab of a sinking liner, then fired to second base to double off the tying run, ending the hope of the TY Sluggers to end the 6 year Spring reign of the Bandits.

"CAP COMES THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH"!!!
Here's the scenario: Championship game, extra innings, bases loaded, two out, winning run on 3rd base. The player/manager of the Bandits up to bat with the game on the line. Two rival teams that have battled each other for 11 years. Does it get any better than this? (And you will NEVER hear talk of steroid use by players in this league!)
In a very well-played, see-saw battle with their dreaded rivals, the Smelly Old Sox, the Bandits finally prevailed in the 9th inning. Bandits skipper "CAP" Prescott came through with a bases-loaded, 2-out line drive that the Sox shortstop dove for and gloved briefly, but the ball trickled out when he hit the ground, allowing Adrian Samminago to score the winning run, ending a "Classic" battle in the 30 & Over Rockford Park District Baseball Championship game.
The G-Man, Gerry Almazan took Dave Lee deep for a 4th inning Home Run well over the left field fence, and Danny Lewis drove in the 2nd run of the inning with a clutch sacrifice fly, scoring Tom Murphy from 3rd. Old Sox pitchers shut down the Bandits until the dramatic 9th inning.
Adrian led off the 9th with a single up the middle, and Rick Lewis bunted him to 2nd. Johnny Vant drew a walk, and after a wild pitch, the Old Sox elected to walk Ray Compton to face Bryan Redington. After Bryan popped out, the stage was set for "Cap's" 2-out, bases loaded game-winning rbi.

Highlights on Baseball Tonight and Fox Sports Net.
Congratulations to our heroes on a great season: Great pitching, defense and hitting all year. It was only fitting that "Cap" drove in the winning run, avenging our only defeat of the season against the dreaded Smelly Old Sox! Going for the "REPEAT" in the Fall.

Bandits Stop, Drop & Roll over Firemen 5-4
June 9, 2002 --
The Bandits played another solid game, scorching the Rockford Fire Department 5-4, behind the stellar pitching of Tony "The Body" Corbo, and Johnny "Walker Red" Christiansen.
Danny Lewis came through with a big sac fly, scoring Bryan "Flash" Redington from 3rd. The game had to be halted temporarily when the cloud of dust caused by "Flash's" slide made visibility impossible. Traffic had to be halted as far away as Kilburn Avenue.
The Bandits close out the regular season against The Mayor's Forest City White Eagles club on Thursday, with the playoffs following.

May 23, 2002 --
The Bandits suffer their first loss of the 2002 campaign, dropping a 5-4 decision to their biggest rivals, the smelly Old Sox on a 2-out triple that scored the winning run from 1st base in the bottom of the 7th.

COMEBACK KIDS!!! 6 in 7th tie, Cap scores gamewinner in 8th in thriller!!!
May 9, 2002 --
The Bandits, pulling the proverbial "rabbit out of the hat" (see photo at left), score 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie, then complete the comeback in the bottom of the 8th to beat the Rockford Fire Department in a wild affair at Searls Park, 11-10. VICTOR MUMA HIT AN AWESOME SACRIFICE FLY, ESTIMATED TO TRAVEL OVER 400 FEET (ALTHOUGH 250 OF IT WAS STRAIGHT UP)
Highlights: Danny Lewis making an over the shoulder running catch to save a run in the top of the 8th, Bryan Redington tying it with a 2 run single in the bottom of the 7th, timely hitting and good defense by Mark Mershon (called on to catch for Ray Compton), and as earlier mentioned, Cap (pictured above) boldly stealing 3rd base on the first pitch of the bottom of the 8th.
"A great team win", said Manager "Cap" Prescott (see mug at right). "This team has great hitting up and down the lineup. I knew we had a comeback in us. We can put up a 6 or 7 run inning at any time."
The Bandits are off to a great start at 2-0, and will enjoy 10 days off, returning to play on May 19th.

Bandits Cook Applebee's, 14-1
May 30, 2002 --
The Bandits ran their record to 4-1 with a 14-1 win over hapless Applebee's. Chris "Slowhand" Semmelroth (pictured, wearing 2001 Bandit uniform), after serving his time for an undisclosed prison sentence, flew in to Cottonwood Airport via Con Air and arrived just in time to give the Bandits their 9th man.
Victor "The Tomahawk Chopping Macho Man" Muma pitched 4 strong innings, and skipper "Cap" Prescott pitched the 5th for the save.
Other highlights: Rick "The Stick" Lewis hammered a three run triple, Jonny "V" Vant missed a homer by inches, and Bryan "Pudge" Redington made his debut at catcher, choosing to use the umpire as a backstop, playing all balls "On The Hop".

2002 Bandits: Looking To Bring Home Some Hardware This Year.
2002 Roster
May 5, 2002 --
Bandits jump out of gate, win opener 9-1, but there was little joy in Mudville. "If that ***d*mn first baseman Redington doesn't let that ball under his glove, we roll a a shutout", fumed Cap Prescott. "He will be running extra "poles" next practice, I guarantee that. There is no excuse for that at this level! I am tempted to send his *** back to Des Moines"!
"Let's just keep it rolling", say the Bandit's skipper "Cap" Prescott.
