Cramerton Parks & Recreation Department in cooperation with the Strikers of Gaston County Soccer Association will host a 3 V 3 Youth Soccer Festival on Saturday June 27th, 2009.
Registration Deadline is Friday, June 19th, 2009. Checks and rosters must be received by this date.

For Age Groups:
U10 (cannot be 10 before Aug. 1st, 2009)
U12 (cannot be 12 before Aug. 1st, 2009)
U14 (cannot be 14 before Aug. 1st, 2009)
U16 (cannot be 16 before Aug. 1st, 2009)
U18 (cannot be 18 before Aug. 1st, 2009)
Proof of age is required (copy of birth certificate, NCYSA players’ card, etc.)
3 games guaranteed (Recreation & Competitive Divisions)
Competitive Division is defined as any team having a player presently playing for a challenge, classic, or school team. We may combine divisions as needed, including a High School Division.
Free T-shirt for all participants. This festival is designated to be a fun event with skill competitions, food, raffle, etc. All proceeds will benefit the youth program.
Cost is $100 per team, 5 players per team max.

SGCSA 2009 - 2010 Tryouts
May 18, 2009 - 05:30 PM --
The Strikers of Gaston County Soccer Association will hold the 2009 - 2010 soccer tryouts for the Flames and Hurricanes (girls) at Poston Park from Monday, May 18th through Thursday, May 21st. Make up date will be Saturday, May 23rd from 10 AM - 12 PM for all ages if necessary due to bad weather.
You are encouraged to be at the field 30 minutes before the first time your child will tryout in order to fill out forms and other documents. Your child will not be allowed to tryout without this information and a signed medical waiver.
U-12 and younger tryouts are from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
U-13 and older tryouts are from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM.
Soccer ball, water/drink, and shin guards are required. The players must come to the tryouts at least two days during that period.
The coach for the team will only call you if your child will be offered a position on the team. The calls will be made by Friday or Saturday after the tryouts. We will not call you if your child did not make the team nor we will hold spots for anyone pending the results of your child's tryouts with another club.

SGCSA Flames - State Champions!!!

Our U-13 Boys Flames made the club and our area proud by winning the NCYSA State Challenge Championship. These boys have played hard the entire year and this was the icing on the cake for their superb season.
Winning group C (defeating CASL Strikers, TUSA Ajax, and tying GUS Cyclones) they had to go through PKs in the quarterfinals vs CASL Jets after double OT to reach the final 4.
The final 4 lived up to the expectations as we had to play CASL's #1 team, the CASL Avalanche. In a battle of wills, our kids left everything on the field and won the match 3-1.
The next day we played the championship against CASL's #2 team WF United. The SGCSA Flames had lost to them twice in previous tournaments and in this round the third time was the charm.
After a furious and fast paced game, the Flames hoisted the trophy with a 2-1 victory. What a remarkable achievement for this group of kids representing themselves, their parents, our club, Gaston County, and CAYSL.
We are extremely proud of you. Way to go Flames!
