Thanks again for another great season!
I hope everyone had a great time!
Look for registration for the 2010 Spring Soccer Season to be held in July.
|
Check here first
If the weather is in question on game day, check here first!
As soon as we know if the game is cancelled or going to be played we will post it here.
The Urbana hot line number is 367-9575
But remember, if you have a 9:00am game you may still need to go to the field. They may not call it off until the very last minute.
As soon as we know we will post it here.

Donations
The St. Joseph Soccer Club wants to thank Jeff Fewell and Dick's Sporting Goods for the donation of 10, # 4 soccer balls! We needed more and he was able to donate them to us. Thank you Jeff
We would also like to thank Tom Wilson for the purchase of 30, # 3 soccer balls! The numbers were so much larger this season, and he helped a lot with that investment! Thank you Tom
Do you have extra pairs on cleats or shin gaurds that the kids have out grown? You can donate cleats and shin gaurds to the soccer club. We will get those into the hands of kids that could use them!
Please email Hack1sjo@aol.com for more information.

A Few Reminders
I just want to remind everyone of a few rules we follow.
During the game we discourage the wearing of any jewelry, hats or sunglasses. These are for safety reasons, both for the player, and the other players around them.
Parents, please remember that you can not stand behind the goal area and coach the kids. This is hard, we all want to encourage our defense, or offense when they are in position. But this is not allowed, it does distract the goalie.
Also, we need to remember to make sure that we are leaving AT LEAST a 2'- 3' space between the field line, and our chairs, blankets, and players who are sitting out. This is so the official can move easily, and for the players doing the throw ins.
Shin gaurds are REQUIRED to play in the St. Joseph Soccer Club. If a player forgets them, and another player has the time to share is fine, but no player should be allowed on the field with out them. Again, this is a safety issue.
Addition:
I want to remind all parents and players about Code of Conduct.
When you are at the field (home or away) you are representing St Joseph-Ogden, and the St Joseph Soccer Club.
We may not always agree with the calls being made by the officials, but we need to remember that he or she is the Official, and what ever their call is, is final. If you disagree, it can be discussed with your coach AFTER the game. Under no circumstance do we approach the official during the game.
Language should also be appropriate. No swearing is allowed on the soccer field.
If these rules can not be followed, it is understood that you will be asked to leave the field, period.
If there is another issue that you notice, or are unsure of, please contact your coach, or send me an email, (Hack1sjo@aol.com) we will look into it for you.

Please pick up your trash
Please remind your child to pick up all of their trash after both home and away games, or after practice.
This includes wrappers from snacks, and empty water bottles.

Climbing on the nets!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.....
I was out this past Sunday and tied all of the 1st/2nd nets back up, and on Monday they are snapped and new holes have been added!
If you should see kids climbing up the nets or goal posts, would you please ask them to get off. They are NOT for climbing.
We are seeing more and more holes in the nets, and the ties that keep the nets up are being snapped.
Please help with the effort of taking care of our soccer goals. Replacement nets are expensive!!
Thanks for your help!
