Championship Baseball
There are eleven crucial factors for a championship baseball team. Here are a few of them.
DISCIPLINE: Discipline is caring-wanting to do things right, wanting to learn, wanting to know more about what you are doing, wanting to look good and to give a good impression of yourself. It is the will to persevere and to sacrifice a few things, especially when people ask you why.You must practice discipline until it is not discipline at all, but just what you want to do everyday.
STYLE OF PLAY: This creates an image. This image can affect opponents, umpires, and fans alike because it instills execution, consistency, and intensity in players.Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing. Therefore, as long as you are going to take the field, you must play to win.
UNSELFISHNESS: This means doing things to win games, not to achieve statistical goals. There is no limit to accomplishment if it doesn't matter who gets the credit.
EXPLOIT MISTAKES: Take advantage of mistakes the opponent makes. The offense must be able to put the opponent under pressure and take advantage of mistakes through aggressive and alert base running and hitting. The defense must also be able to make plays and be ready to make the other team pay the price when they make a mistake. The team that strikes out the least, makes the fewest errors, gives up the fewest walks, and hits the fewest fly balls, usually wins.

P.S. TEAM PLAY IS EVERYTHING

MENTAL TOUGHNESS... Great hitters learn to overcome adversity(problems)because they know they will fail more then they will succeed. All successive hitters are willing to risk failure, yet they HATE TO FAIL. They are persistent and determined, yet willing to acknowledge temporary defeat and prepare positively when at bat. The measure of a hitter's potential depends on how he handles adversity.HITTERS MUST BE MENTALLY TOUGH! They must have no fear of failure yet hate it passionately. College coaches and pro scouts carefully watch players after they strike out or make an error. They want to see how a player handles it. Does he overcome adversity, or does he lose control when he makes a mistake or has a poor at bat? The answer often determines the player's potential for college recruitment and the professional draft. Pro scouts call this "makeup" because it answers the question,"What is he made of?" BEING IN CONTROL...To succeed in baseball, a player must have total control of his emotions and absolute concentration. He should block out all negative thoughts and the things beyond his control while concentrating on the things he can control. The effective hitter controls himself and gets on with the next pitch. Even great hitters are vulnerable if they don't focus on the next pitch or the next at bat. If the hitter is still thinking about an umpire's bad call,he can't concentrate on the next pitch, the next at bat, or his play on the field.Keep your emotions in check, stay positive and focused and good results will come your way.Never get down on yourself or your team mates because you'll weaken the team as well as yourself. Let the opponent try to beat you, never give in and stay positive
