Bill Curzie, now 77 years old and playing in the Tri-State MSBL,remembers the beginning well. In March of 1992 Bill saw an article advertising the MSBL and @ 56 years old, he decided to call the MSBL, Steve Sigler answered. The two met in Cherry Hill and the SJMSBL started to form. Mike Coburn, at the time President of Connecticut MSBL and Northeast coordinator helped form the SJMSBL. A story in the Burlington County Times (Jack Knarr was the editor) featuring Men’s Senior Baseball was Curzie’s first recruiting tool. The article asked interested players and teams to come to Delran High School. Among those showing were Gary Brown (1996- 2011 president of the SJMSBL) and Allan Scott. The inaugural 1992 Season got off to a late start. On June 15th, 1992, In front of 6 teams, the Mayor of Delran said a few words to dedicate the season @ the AA Field in Riverside. After this short speech, the teams scattered to play their games and the SJMSBL began.

In 1993 the SJMSBL changed its name to the DVMSBL (Delaware Valley Men’s Senior Baseball League). In 1994 the SJMSBL reverted back to it's old name when Philadelphia foemed it's own league. In1995 the league swelled to 24 Teams & adopted a 40+ division. In 1995 Lloyd Terry’s Tabernacle White Sox won the 30+ division with a 15-1 record. Gary Brown Managed the Cubs, Dean Potts managed the Indians, Allan Scott managed the Gas House Gang, Kevin Jones managed the SJ Panthers.
On July 15th @ 4:30pm @ Our All Star Game @ Campbell Field @ Home Plate………………………. Bill Curzie will be presented with a plaque in recognition of founding our league 20 years ago. The Burlington County Times will be invited to cover this event.
