Stars 8 Bay Village blue 6
The Stars advance in the playoffs behind 11 hits and great defense. Kevin Peterson earned the save striking out the side in the 6th inning after Bay Village loaded the bases with no outs. Hayden Speeth earned the win in relief pitching 2 innings of 1 hit ball. Hayden also had 3 hits and 3 rbis at the plate. Bobby Hausler added 2 hits and 2 rbis, Nick Pavone had 2 hits and Bryan Westbrook delivered what turned out to be the game winning hit in the 6th inning. The defense recorded 8 ground ball outs in the game.
Strongsville blue 16 Stars 6
The Stars fall behind early dropping into the losers bracket. Kevin Peterson and Mike Scaravelli added 3 hits a piece in the game. Tevin Jackson drove in 2 runs. Joe Horoszko pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief striking out 2.
Stars 4 Medina 0
The Stars shut out a good Medina team behind 3 innings of scoreless ball from Kevin Peterson with 4 strikeouts and 3 innings of scoreless ball from Joe Horoszko striking out 3 and earning the win. Joe Horoszko had a triple and a double driving in a run, Kevin Peterson drove in 2 runs with 2 hits, Erik Daugenti added 2 hits. The Stars scored 2 runs in the 4th and 2 runs in the 6th.

The Stars move on in the playoffs behind winning pitcher Tevin Jacksons 3 innings of 1 hit ball. Hayden Speeth earned the save pitching the final 3 innings. Cole Ellinwood collected 3 hits, Hayden Speeth had 2 hits and 2 rbis, Kevin Peterson added 2 hits and an rbi, Nick Pavone and Sean Leyden drove in 2 runs a piece. Only 3 teams left for the championship.

The Stars move into the championship round with 14 hits and great pitching. Winning pitcher Kevin Peterson pitched the first 2 innings allowing only 4 hits. Joe Horoszko pitched the final 3 innings without allowing a run, striking out 4. Kevin Peterson led the way at the plate with 2 hits and 4 rbis, Hayden Speeth, Bobby Hausler and Bryan Westbrook each added 2 hits and 3 rbis. Nick Pavone also collected 2 hits.

The Stars move into the Championship game beating the Stallions scoring 2 runs in the 6th inning of a tie game. Mike Scaravelli pitched 3 good innings striking out 4 and Kevin Peterson earned the win pitching 3 scoreless innings. Hayden Speeth had 2 hits and Erik Daugenti had 2 rbis.
In the 6th inning Nick Pavone drew a 1 out walk and Sean Leyden dropped a bunt down and was safe at first on a wild throw, Nick Pavone hustling to third scored on the overthrow to second and Sean Leyden scored on a close play at the plate.
CVBA 8u Championship Game
Strongsville blue 7 Stars 4
The Stallions earned the Championship in a great final game! Tevin Jackson pitched 3 good innings allowing only 4 runs followed by a good inning from Hayden Speeth and Joe Horoszko pitched a scoreless inning. Strongsville scored 3 runs with 2 outs in the 4th to get the win. This was the Stars 7th game of the weekend and the 3rd straight game of day. Sean Leyden added 3 hits including an rbi double, Kevin Peterson had 3 more hits and Tevin Jackson and Bobby Hausler each added 2 hits. 2nd place finish for the Stars in the 15 team league!
Congraulations to the boys for yet another great weekend of excellent baseball. Defense was outstanding, great pitching and as always many great hits.

The Stars improve to 25-6 overall and 14-3 in league play. Cole Ellinwood started on the mound and pitched 2 2/3 striking out 4. Joe Horoszko came on to get the win allowing 1 hit and Kevin Peterson collected the save striking out 4 without allowing a base runner. Joe Horoszko had 3 hits

The Stars win their first 9u game with 13 hits and great pitching from winning pitcher Brendan Santiago as well as Mike Daugenti and Kevin Peterson. Mike Daugenti led the way at the plate with a solo HR. Erik Daugenti added 2 hits including a double and 2 rbis, Kevin Peterson, Hayden Speeth and Sean Leyden had 2 hits a piece.
Stars (9u) 5 Stars (8u) 2
The Stars allowed 5 unearned runs losing to the 9u team. Mike Daugenti had another HR at the plate. 9 guys left on base in the game against 2 good 9u pitchers. Mike Daugenti retired all 12 batters he faced.
Stars 6 Springfield Thunder 5
The Stars collected 12 base hits and 10 stolen bases behind Joe Horoszko, Nick Pavone and Mike Daugenti's 2 hits a piece. Winning pitcher Jacob Stys worked 4 innings striking out 8. Kevin Peterson worked an inning in the set up role and Mike Daugenti picked up the save with 2 innings of work striking out 4.

The Stars win a big one with great pitching and timely hitting. Hayden Speeth pitched the last 2 innings to get the win, allowing 2 hits striking out 2. Kevin Peterson started and did not allow a hit striking out 7 of the 10 batters he faced. Joe Horoszko, Cole Ellinwood and Tevin Jackson each had 2 hits in the game. Hayden Speeth collected 3 rbis, Mike Scaravelli drove in 2 runs, Nick Pavone executed a perfect squeeze bunt in the 6th inning and Kevin Peterson and Sean Leyden each scored 3 times.

The Stars lose a heartbreaker in the bottom of the 6th. Kevin Peterson started and pitched 3 hitless innings striking out 6. Cole Elinwood pitched 2 innings and Hayden Speeth followed on the mound. The game was 0-0 until the the 5th. After a bases loaded walk from Bobby Hausler, Hayden Speeth cleared the bases with a double to take a 4-0 lead. Sean Leyden added 2 hits including a triple. Great defense from both teams for 6 innings.

The Stars win their play in game behind winning pitcher Tevin Jacksons 1 hit 4 strike out work on the mound. Hayden Speeth closed it out with 3 innings of relief. Hayden led the 11 hit attack with 3 hits and 3 rbis including a triple. Joe Horoszko collected 3 hits including a double, Sean Ledyen had 2 hits with a double driving in 2 runs, Cole Ellinwood and Nick Pavone each had a double.
Stars 4 Brunswick 3
The Stars move into the semi-finals scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th with 2 outs. Defensive play of the game was an 8-4-5 triple play. Brunswick had the bases loaded in the 2nd inning. Sean Leyden catches a hard line drive in center field throws to Nick Pavone at second and he throws to Tevin Jackson at third to complete the triple play. Nick Pavone also added an unassisted double play in the 5th. Outstanding defense from both teams. Kevin Peterson came on in relief of Cole Ellinwood with 3 innings of 1 hit ball striking out the side in the 6th totaling 5 strikeouts to get the win. Hayden Speeth and Kevin Peterson added 2 hits a piece to pace the offense.

The Stars move into the championship game with a come from behind win. Hayden Speeth pitched the first 3 innings allowing only 3 runs on 2 base hits. Kevin Peterson came on to pitch the final 3 innings giving up only 1 hit and striking out 5 to get the win. Hayden Speeth led the way at the plate with 3 more hits and 2 rbis. Bobby Hausler added 2 hits including a double. Nick Pavone added 2 rbi's including a sacrifice squeeze bunt in the 5th.

The Stars win the tournament in a great game at the plate from both teams. Stars collected 21 hits including a 2 run Home Run from Kevin Peterson who had 3 rbis on the day. Hayden Speeth added 4 hits including a double and scored 4 runs, Cole Ellinwood had 4 hits and 5 rbis incuding a triple, Sean Leyden added a triple and 3 rbis with his 2 hits, Erik Daugenti had 2 hits including a double and 3 rbis, Tevin Jackson, Nick Pavone and Bobby Hausler added 2 hits a piece. Tevin Jackson picked up the win in relief pitching 2 2/3 allowing 3 earned runs and 2 hits. Hayden Speeth earned the save with 3 innings of work including a game ending strikeout. The Stars improve to 10-2 in league play and 17-4 overall with a win on the road. Hayden Speeth picked up his 6th win of the year with 3 innings of 3 hit ball. He also drove in 5 runs with 2 hits including a bases loaded triple. Kevin Peterson smashed a 3 run HR and Joe Horoszko followed with a solo HR for the Stars first back to back home runs of the season in the 7 run 2nd inning. Erik Daugenti pitched a scoreless inning striking out 2 and he had 2 hits including a double. Mike Scaravelli closed out the game with a scoreless inning striking out 2. Nick Pavone added a double and Bryan Westbrook had 2 rbi's.

The Stars drop a close one leaving 9 on base in the game. The Stars had 8 hits to 4 for PA taking second place in the Greater Cleveland Classic. Tevin Jackson, Cole Ellinwood and Keven Peterson all pitched well. The boys played great defense from the outfield to the infield all weekend which kept us in every game. Great pitching and clutch hitting was the key. Congratulations to all the boys!

The Stars improve to 5-0 in league play and 8-1 overall with a great 3-2 come from behind win! Kevin Peterson pitched the first 3 innings striking out 8. Tevin Jackson picked up the win in relief pitching 2 innings and striking out 5. Cole Ellinwood came on in the 6th with no outs and runners on first and second, striking out 2 and getting a ground ball out to earn the save. Erik Daugenti and Mike Scaravelli led the way with 2 hits each. Cole Ellinwood drove in 2 runs with a single in the bottom of the 5th to give the Stars the lead. Team had 9 hits on the night and 11 left on base.

Kevin also added 2 hits on the night. Hayden Speeth had 3 hits including a double and a triple driving in 6 runs. Joe Horoszko added 2 doubles and 2 rbis and Mike Scaravelli had 2 doubles driving in 2 runs. Cole Ellinwood pitched a scoreless inning striking out the side. Team defense was sharp.
