Names for Divisions

Age Divisions

The following outlines the age changes to the divisions. The names of the age divisions have changed from the current terminology (Petite, Tween, Junior, etc.) to the "U" Classification. The following outlines the age changes to the divisions for the 2013/2014 Season. Please note the clarification that, for example, U9 refers to "under 9" so ages 8 and under. It does not mean 9 and under.

Bunny  U9   7 & 8    2006, 2005

EQUIPMENT FOR RINGETTE
The following equipment is required to play on SMRA teams:
CSA Certified Helmet with Ringette Facemask, Type 5 or 6*
Neck Guard
Shoulder Pads
Elbow Pads
Gloves
Practice Jersey
Jill
Girdle or Pants
Ringette Pants
Shinguards
Socks, if wearing pants
Hockey Skates
Tape
Ringette Stick

Please note that full equipment is required before any player is allowed to participate in any on-ice practice or games.

IMPORTANT:  HELMETS HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE!

If you take a look at the back of the helmet, you should find a CSA (Canadian Standards Association) sticker along with a valid expiry date.  That'll tell you how much life is left in your helmet.  If it's within a couple of months of that expiry date, you should seriously consider investing in a new helmet immediately.

A quick visual inspection of the entire helmet should also be done to make sure it hasn't suffered any damage.  There shouldn't be any cracks on the outer shell and the padding inside should be intact and securely fastened to its original spot.

If you have any doubts about the integrity of your helmet after this inspection, toss it in the garbage and get a new one.
