Cougars Flag Football 2007
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2007 Fall Flag Football season. We are delighted to welcome your sons to the Cougars team!! I would like to extend a special thank you to all the Coaches, and all those that volunteer with the Cougars Football Team this season.
Team Gear - The uniform jerseys are provided by the football club. Each child is to have black shorts, cleats, black socks and a mouth guard. All children must attend every practice and game with mouth guards. Please NO JEWELLERY or gum at any practice or games. Please make sure your child has cold refreshments with them to keep them well hydrated throughout their workout sessions. We also recommend packing a cold sweat towel, to help the players cool off during water breaks.
Picture Day – We will have information on this soon.
Team Snacks - Each parent will be asked to provide snacks through the season for half time or after each game. If for any reason there is going to be a problem due to an emergency, please notify the team mom so alternate arrangements can be made. In addition you may be asked to bring a bag of ice on your snack day. Half time snacks should consist of: apples, grapes, oranges, watermelon, or other fresh fruit and a juice pouch or Gatorade (no candy or fruit snacks please). End of game snacks may be any kind of snack sack, cookies, fruit roll up’s, nuts & raisons, and a drink. Please bring enough for all players.
Game Cancellations - You will be contacted by your coach and/or team mom should a game be cancelled. If in doubt please check the football website www.tcyfa.com for rain out information, etc.
Punctuality - Please make sure your child arrives at practice promptly and ready to practice. If for any reason your child cannot make a game or a practice, please call the Coach, Assistant Coaches or the Team Mom to let them know. Please make sure that if you drop your child off for practice that you check with the coach for an approximate finish time so that you are there 15 minutes prior to collect your child in case the coach needs to address parents. Please be sure to pick up all your trash after practice and games.
I suggest you watch the movie “Little Giants” with your children. Coach KT stresses discipline, but demands sportsmanship for all players in this team. He asks for support in encouraging your children to listen to the coaching staff during instruction and during a game.
If you have any issues regarding schedules, game times, coaching techniques, other parents, etc. please share your praises and/or concerns with your team mom for further communication. We look forward to a terrific season. Remember, you are your child’s biggest fan; they love to have the support and encouragement. They appreciate your presence at practice and games as much as we do. Thanks in advance for your support and enthusiasm,
