12U - 2009 BOYS OF THE SUMMER FREEDOM CLASSIC TOURNAMENT COMING IN JULY
The 2009 Freedom Classic Tournament hosted by the Boys of Summer Athletic Club is quickly becoming one of the premier events of the year. This tournament has set its tradition as an event held during the July 4th Holiday week. TravelBallSelect.com (TBS) has provided coverage of this event for the past four years and will once again be covering this event this year. Each year this tournament has provided top level competition for all age groups from 10U through 18U. And this year is once again shaping up to be one of more competitive events of the year. Already, more than 140 teams across all age groups have set their plans to compete in this year’s event. Following is a quick look at how the 12U age bracket is shaping up. Subsequent articles review the make up of other age brackets. In this level, there are still a few open slots for additional teams to enter. But, already 11 very good teams have tossed their hats into this year’s competition. The current list of entrants includes teams from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. In addition to the nine teams from Ohio, traditional power clubs like the Beaver Valley Reds along with a new entrant this year, the East End Express from Richmond Virginia are set to compete for this year’s 12U title. From top to bottom this tournament consistently attracts top rated teams, and that is why TBS will once again provide coverage of this tournament. MJBL WORLD SERIES PLANNING
Hello Parents,
Plans are underway for our exciting MJBL World Series trip to North Carolina. A block of rooms are being held at the Greensboro Marriot for the families. The rooms are being booked fast. There is also a convention in town that same weekend that will generate a lot of traffic and make reservations limited. This year MJBL is NOT providing lodging for the players.
The negotiated rate for either double or King rooms is $89.00 plus tax per night (12.75%). Rooms must be held with a valid credit card.
All the teams will be staying at this location and we think it would be beneficial for the boys if they could stay where the other teams will be located. I also checked some other area Hotels and they are booked for that week as well. We would like to get our reservations on the books no later than Wednesday, June 10th. You will need to secure 1 night plus tax on your OWN credit card. Sandy will be formulating the rooming list so please contact her (sandy.waller@capitalone.com or 201-7867 to let her know if you require a room(s). The dates of the tournament are 8/5-9. If you do not plan to stay the entire week and you need the coaches to foster your child snd you will require a shorten length of stay, please let us know as soon as possible so we can maximize the space.
